Top Republican denies echoing racist ‘replacement theory’ rhetoric in ads

Rep. Elise Stefanik of New York, the House Republican Conference chair, is pushing back on the criticism of her Facebook ads that featured rhetoric echoing the racist “replacement theory.” The conspiracy theory claims liberal politicians are trying to replace White people with non-White people to transform the political landscape. There is renewed scrutiny on Stefanik’s ads from last fall after a suspect who espoused the "replacement theory" killed and targeted Black people in a mass shooting in Buffalo, New York, over the weekend. #CNN #News

    1. Im just glad Democrats will be held accountable for their treason and evil ways at the midterms.

  1. The GOP leadership in Congress needs to be held accountable for their pandering to the far right. Vote them out in November.

    1. Aw.
      You people sad.
      Aw.
      You socialist are losing.
      Aw. Too bad. 🇺🇸👍
      MAGA-KING 🇺🇸💗😇👍

  2. Elise Stefanik has the same impact on politics, human decency, and law & order as e. coli has on food edibility.

  3. She just pulled the ” I can’t be racist because my coworkers are black and Hispanic ” card …. 🤦🏻‍♂️

  4. Aside from the ideology, one of the astonishing things to me is that a teenager has the purchasing power or the money to buy all those guns, ammo, cameras, and protective equipment to go out and kill people in such a violent manner. Where were his parents? Was his babysitter a tablet? Is that what we call a developed country? In some countries, children live with their parents until their 30s because the unemployment rate is so high and the jobs pay so bad that they cannot emancipate themselves until later in life.
One would think that money and intelligence could be used in a more humane way. How about getting to know those communities and volunteering there to understand what they are going through, their history, etc. instead of swallowing up what someone online or with a highly rated tv show is telling you? There are so many questions.

    1. @Sonya J
I am white, 60 and American – I don’t really get it either. Except for one thing – the fact that our standard of living and quality of life has kept going down – that is fertile ground for demagogues. Of course the people who support the demagogues have no idea that the people they supported in the past mostly CAUSED that, and the demagogues give them someone to blame other than themselves and the people they supported.

    2. @Virginia Moss – Agree with you. I never said it was something new. It happens in Europe and Latin America today, as far as I know. I imagine it is also common in some Asian countries.

  5. i’m from NY and i can tell you one thing about elise stefanick… she never uttered a single trump word before her election.
once in office, she saw her golden ticket and ran with it.

    1. The only “Trump word” I know of is cofeveve. Everything else he said was just English. Sure it was randomly capitalized and grammatically massacred, but it was English nonetheless.

  6. There used to be just one Republican willing to say the quiet parts out loud. His name was Steve King.

    1. @American Patriot it is racist nonsense. And if you support that, hen what does it say about you?

    2. *MUTE ALL RUSSIAN ETC.ETC. TROLLS WHENEVER THEY POP-UP ON YOUR NOTIFICATIONS👌🇺🇸✌😁*

  7. Knowledge of the Constitution and American and World History should be a demonstrated requirement from now on for all who want to hold public office. Ignorance is half the battle here. The MTG gang would never be able to pass a most simple quiz on the topic. Neither would Trump.

    1. *MUTE ALL RUSSIAN ETC.ETC. TROLLS WHENEVER THEY POP-UP ON YOUR NOTIFICATIONS👌🇺🇸✌😁*

  8. The fact she didnt say “no” to the question about replacement theory tells you everything you need to know.

    1. @CynJ Williams sorry but the federal government is allowed to investigate any business that is believed to hire any undocumented immigrants, but Americans that complain from their couch on a cell phone do no vetting themselves of businesses before handing over their money. Mostly because it’s to much leg work & because they don’t want an increase on product prices. You can’t have your cake & eat it too!!!

    2. @Jose Luis Peraza Official Weren’t you talking about her as a private customer? If federal laws were passed to investigate businesses, do you know whether the laws were implemented and mechanisms put in place? How about you explain to American citizens how YOU are legally able to obtain information from businesses about the employment statuses of illegal aliens. I don’t know if you are American, but we have laws here.

  9. I’m 55 years old. I never knew the professional terminology if this type of thinking. 🤔 However, I’ve known people who follow this doctrine. I’ve had discussions with individuals about this, it seems, all my life. But, I never thought it would materialize into action. I thought they would be thwarted by society to stay under the radar. However, thanks to the internet & Donald Trump they now feel emboldened.

    1. Being of the same age, Im surprised you are already forgetting things. In 2015, Biden discusses this “replacement” in great detail, it is reported in news reports, both tv and paper, many times as well, year before this tragic event. What is even more surprising is that at your age, your politically motivated by it.

  10. It breaks my heart to hear that mass shooters are idolising/emulating the shooter from Christchurch. They were an Australian who came to New Zealand with the intent of carrying out that attack because NZ was in their eyes too much of a safe place for Muslim’s. Our country came together with outrage that this happened and embraced the Muslim community, the opposite of the division the shooter wanted. Our government decided not to refer to him by name in the media to deny him the notoriety he sought and immediately banned semi automatic weapons with large magazines so this could never happen again – after our first mass shooting. It is sad that they happen daily over in the states and there’s no political will to do anything about it.

    1. And you’re right this country doesn’t have the political will do anything about what’s going on over here.

    2. I think he came to NZ to take advantage of our slack gun laws .We should have followed Australia’s example after the Port Arthur massacre.

    3. May God bless NZ. Now that’s love and good leadership. America is devoid of Love and leadership 🕯️🙏.

  11. She said in an interview that “Democrats desperately want wide open borders and mass amnesty for illegals allowing them to vote.” I’m an old man and I seldom miss elections. I’ve never once voted for a republican. I’ll hang first. Nevertheless, I do not want wide open borders. Hey Stefanik, stop saying stuff about us that’s not true. Stop making stuff up and attributing it to us. Your behavior is vile and loathsome.

    1. Unfortunately voted republican twice but never again. We need responsible leadership in this Country from both parties!

    2. I feel the same way. I’ve been voting Democrat since I was able to started voting in 2008. Why would I want to vote Republican. I’m NOT interested. They just don’t get it that a lot of people are clearly not interested in their party. Which is why they would never get our votes. 🤦‍♀️

  12. We’re acting like no one could have seen this coming. He had parents. He had a school and NYS police aware of previous threats he’s made. He also has doctors that treated him as an inpatient for a mental illness. It seems like major red flags are always there and always missed.

  13. So that’s what life has come down to Romney and Cheney being the most level-headed people in the room now you know Society already lost their mind🤔

    1. @R C It doesn’t SEEM that way, he IS way better at senility than I am at regular life. He’s way better at senility than anyone is at anything.

  14. She is bold and toxic. I have listened and observed how toxic her expressions are. She is a nasty bigot and she must own her assertions. Don’t disown your doctrine now. Own it. Words have meaning and some of these ideas that are expressed are impactful and harmful to innocent people. She must be voted out. She doesn’t deserve to be paid by tax payer dollars.

  15. Stefanik is just one in a long line who have sold their very souls to be in a leadership role. Her parents must be extremely proud.
