With what approach do you think the US, Israel, UK and other countries have been trying for in the last 30+ years? It led to nowhere, there’s no one to talk to (in the Iranian government). They have a supreme leader, his decision is final. While our democratic governments needs to go through a process just to do about anything. They have their interests, and we have ours, and unfortunately they don’t take our interests very lightly.
Diplomacy doesn’t always work, especially in the Middle East. The Middle East is a different world that you are completely unfamiliar with, we (at least for Israelis) live under the constant feeling of something is about to happen at any second, and it’s going to explode real bad. And it’s not a question of if something is going to happen, it’s a question of WHEN will it happen.
While the US just struck Iranian backed militants for the first time, we’ve been doing that for almost 3 years in Syria. We have struck for at least 2000+ times of Iranian targets in Syria, and that still doesn’t deter them to try to get close to our borders.
What America is showing here to Iran, is that it doesn’t want to be pushed around anymore, and that it wants to be taken very seriously. If they touch an American, they will face the wrath of Uncle Sam. Something they should have done long time ago…
