War in Europe beyond Ukraine is ‘of course’ a possibility, Finnish foreign minister tells CNN

Following decades of neutrality, Finland — along with Sweden — was formally invited to join NATO this week during the alliance's summit in Madrid. Finland Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto spoke with CNN’s Jim Sciutto about his country's move toward NATO and the possibility of war expanding beyond Ukraine’s border. #CNN #News

    1. nato will protect you lol after all it was nato that spent 8 years training the ukraine army that is getting their butt kicked!

  1. *Trump made a statement! Watch the video you will be shocked* everydays.ml

    Mr.Dunn – respect for you.

    1. There are Russian troops in the vicinity of Lisichansk, but there are no street fights yet, – head of the Luhansk OVA Serhiy Gaidai.

      ▪️The city is under fire from several directions;

      ▪️A mayor with 9 grades of education has been appointed in Severodonetsk;

▪️There is no way to evacuate people from Lisichansk, so residents are advised to stay in shelters all the time.🐼🐼🐸🐸

    2. @Don Quarnstrom most bots are new accounts withing the last 2 years but most are days to a few months old

    3. @Tony Smith people could then say my account is a bot, but only because youtube removed my access to the platform with my original account.

    4. @Tony Smith look at the ’85k subs’ as well. Very very few year old accounts would have that many, especially when that account is from a nobody.

  2. Gotta get real…..Vlad’s stubbornness is his Achilles Heel!! He will not back down, need to seriously think war is coming!!

  3. Whether or not the war actually extends beyond Ukraine, the simple reality is that its effects have long since left the boundary of these two states. So it is really in the world’s interest to see it end.

    1. @Chris Albert it gets old when somebody who just indicates a different opinion to be called komrade, ivan, agent or troll. have we all forgot ten how we were misinformed by big media when bombning and invading Iraq? This conflict is not just a case of good guy vs bad guy, sorry it’s not. all armed conflict is terrible.

    2. @Jon Svensson _”all armed conflict is terrible”_ – On that we agree. Which is why my initial post stated that it is in everyone’s best interest to help end this war. Especially given the ramifications.

  4. Yeah I heard that iron wall theory being tossed around. But that was before nuclear weapons and iron melts. He thinks more like me in that department. Just try me cause it’s gonna be the last time. Even had to say it a couple of times myself to myself this morning. The Irish guy has other ideas and that’s why we need him. I bet he feels better now that he’s had this conversation with him before because Lord knows I do. Force multiplying as I type. And don’t thank me because it’s the Jewish girl in me who likes you and that’s not exactly me now is it?

    1. Of course it is. The possibility of mushroom clouds on the horizon scared the neutrality right out of them.

  5. Ukrainians defending their land, wifes and children against an unprovoked and illegal aggression. They are fighting for the right cause and deserve the international support

    1. You go ahead and send them All your money 🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑
      Here in America we’re BROKE.

  6. The main rules of war from the Russian Federation
    1) Shoot at the mall during the day, because people will definitely be there.
    2) Shoot residential buildings at night, because people will definitely be there.

    1. Oh yeah, but it’s not intentional because that’d be stupid. American too bombed civilian buildings, intentionally perhaps.

    2. @СоветскиКосмонаут’61 so naZi , Americas actions justify you murdering civilians?

    1. The Nalchik City Court sentenced Zaurbek Zhambekov, a resident of Kabardino-Balkaria, to 2 years of suspended imprisonment for 2 years and fined him 30,000 rubles for the fact that his 12-year-old daughter peeled off the letter Z in the colors of the St. George ribbon from someone else’s car🌚🌚🌜🌜

  7. Finnland is an amazing Country. They learned from the Winter War with Russia in the 1930’s. They have an extremely good trained and equipt Army and Civilian Protection Plans. An amazing Land. I am glad to have them in the NATO. 🇫🇮🇸🇪🇩🇪🇪🇺🇺🇦

    1. @John Adam You can give up the buzzword bingo, as I actually know the reality of the strategic situation: ALL long range American ballistic missiles are “hypersonic” and Russia’s SAM network is not up to the task of stopping so many of them.

(You’re referring to hypersonic cruise missiles / hypersonic glide vehicles, which are neat but fairly overblown in significance. Ballistic missiles can still fly much faster; they just can’t change course as well. Honestly, of all of Putin’s blustering nonsense, Poseidon is the much more interesting one, though it isn’t operational yet and it can be stopped with some effort.)

I’m not saying the USA could ‘win’ a nuclear war. But Russia would *definitely* lose. They would lose even if a small fraction of our counterstrike power (such as that which might be given to Finland, as we do with Germany) survives.

As far as Americans being cowards, well, we lasted twice as long in Afghanistan than the Soviets did. Biden isn’t the end-all be-all of American presidents. The next President will be tougher on Russia, regardless of whether R or D.

    2. @Rid Sco Russia signed the treaty and didn’t try seize the whole country because they knew it would cause catastrophic damage to their army. And the Finns have spent the past 75 years building defenses. They not only have a massive reserve army, but they also have the best fallout shelter system ON EARTH. The *entire* population of Helsinki could be saved and live in a huge complex of bunkers that comprise the underground city.

And they’re buying 64 F-35s, which I think is the most in the whole EU. If things deteriorate with Russia and the Finns ask as to, America will gladly loan them dozens of B61 dial-a-yield nukes, which are certified to be deployable via the F-35. This would be very easy to do — we already have a program for B61 loaning with Germany, Belgium, The Netherlands and Italy. In a deteriorating crisis, the USA provides the PAL unlock code and says OK boys, take ’em and do what you want with them.

And because they’re dial-a-yield (going as low as 0.3 kilotons) they are plausibly deployable in a tactical manner during severe crisis situation even if full-scale nuclear war hasn’t broken out. Or alternatively, dialed up to the highest yield, all of Russia’s major western cities could be obliterated *singlehandledly* by one of the nuclear-sharing NATO members flying F-35s (again, including Finland… assuming they opt-in to the nuclear sharing program at some point, like in response to Russian threats.)

Russia isn’t taking Finland under any conceivable scenario. The Baltics, ok maybe in extreme circumstances (if NATO is weakened or caught off-guard). But not Finland, and especially not a full NATO member Finland armed with F-35s.

    3. @John Adam One Sarmat missile launched means the end of Moscow and St Petersburg 20 minutes later.

  8. Ok like Russia can barley take on Ukraine… how is it gonna fight nato (in a conventional war) lol ridiculous man

  9. I support a FREE Ukraine, Strong and Proud. I support Ukraine being a member of the EU. I support Ukraine being a member of NATO. Slava Ukraine.

  10. One can only imagine how much much worse this horror would have been had Putin’s Puppet – the former guy – been reelected.
With the parameters within NATO’s rules, i.e., ‘no boots on the ground’ , one hopes many many more international volunteers will go to Ukaine’s aid.

Am grateful for Finland & Sweden applying to and being accepted by NATO. Big thanks to all organizations who are lending a hand across the myriad of needs for the people of Ukraine. Blessing those countries like Poland who are taking in millions of refugees.

  11. my respect to the brave Ukrainian heros who fight fiercely to stop the Russian cancer before it ruins the whole European body cells

  12. The lesson being learned in Ukraine is that any country bordering Russia must have long range artillery and missiles capable of striking deep into Russia. Fighting only defensively on your own soil is a losing strategy. If Ukraine survives this war, they MUST develop such systems no matter what the terms of the treaty are. Russia is only motivated by pain avoidance.

  13. Finland produces the best snipers and the best racing car drivers. The Finnish sniper known as ‘white death’ held the ‘most killed’ record in WW2.
Finnish assassin could easily hit the mark then drive off and disappear.
    Great asset for NATO!
