Disbarred South Carolina attorney Richard "Alex" Murdaugh was indicted on murder charges in the double homicide killings of his wife and son.

The disgraced former attorney, whose family dominated the legal scene in the small Hampton County community for nearly a century, is already jailed and faces dozens of criminal charges that have piled up in the months since his wife Maggie, 52, and their 22-year-old son, Paul, were killed last June. But until now, he had not been charged in connection with the deaths.

The Colleton County Grand Jury charged Murdaugh with two counts of murder and two counts of possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.

The indictments were signed Thursday. If convicted of murder, Murdaugh would face 30 years to life in prison without parole. Prosecutors could also choose to seek the death penalty under state law because more than one person was killed.

  1. Was confused at Mr murdaugh actions when his defence talk about photos of victims injuries he’s reacting / upset looking down visibly affected
Yet he never reacted /looked down/was upset or visibly affected when prosecution spoke and described ( with more graphic detail ) the same injuries and photos ????? Did you misinterpret your defences coaching 🤔 when they said act upset affected they meant when both defence and prosecution are talking about graphic details
Really telling how this didn’t affect you till it was your defence talkin’ 😕🤔!!!

  2. I’ve been the defendant in a trial, and of course he’s not showing emotion when the state is talking about him

  3. This guy has been flying by the seat of his pants for so long now – crooked lawyers are the pits at the best of times but this guy alleged to have also killed his child and wife needs Karma to catch up real soon.
