    1. For what? Police is overstated and not the problem fixers. Right now they seem to be part of the problem.
I will not going to feel safe with more police. I will feel intimidated

    1. This is exactly what I was thinking about … Also, I was surprised that in Toronto Public Library on Eglinton and Yonge in a women’s washroom there is a separate box for needles on the wall 😢
      Midtown is changing…

  1. It seems like a lot of these incidents are the result of mental health episodes. We need to do something about our broken mental health care system in Ontario. Jeez. What a scary time to be using the TTC.

    1. Well every province has been telling Trudeau they need more heathcare funding, but he wont even meet with them to discuss it. Meanwhile he has given billions away to other countries. Maybe you fools in Ontario should stop voting for Trudeau. Smh.

    2. So many assault incidents lately not just in Ontario, I don’t feel safe using public transit anymore because of these incidents. I’m just an ordinary guy who wants to go to work and live a peaceful life jeez.

    3. A cohesive society doesnt immigration bomb itself to death. Canadians are depressed because they have no family or culture. And the immigrants are depressed because they dont feel apart of their culture. Its a lose lose situation. End immigration now.

    1. lol you have to go do your job.
a job that can be done from home can be sent overseas for a fraction of the price
      so just think about that

    1. @Winston Smith it’s better than getting hit with an axe or pushed in front of an on coming subway like we have recently see happen on the TTC

    1. It’s called diversity. And terrorism is “part and parcel of living in a big city” according to the Mayor of London, UK. Suck it up, Toronto.

    1. That’s violating thier human right! Everyone have the right to travel freely w/ govt subsidized services, except the unvaxxed

  2. This City My City What A Sad Place its Becoming !!! Many Years Ago Loved Going On our TTC Buses Subways It was Fun ! Now look Both ways !!!!!

  3. Several things need to happen:
    1. Better mental health treatment
    2. Families to be more involved with their own members.
    3. Bystanders to act promptly in defense of those being attacked.
    4. Individuals, men and women, young and older, to invest in self-defense classes.
    5. Better support by authorities along public transportation.

    1. not everyone is blessed with having a living family.
you think you have all the solutions don’t you…..
easy to just type off 5 numbered points with zero knowledge of how to actually fix it

    2. @BlackOut GStar says the person woth nothing to offer other than snide. Maybe look into one of the resources to help with mental health.

    3. _3. Bystanders to act promptly in defense of those being attacked._

The problem there is anyone intervening may well end up being charged with a crime themselves. There is not the same right to self-defence in Canada as there is in the United States.

    4. @PAD Financial and what exactly are you doing right now? atleast mine has a valid point to it instead of just snide

    5. @BlackOut GStarme ? I’m being in agreement with the original statement that you tried to discredit with _your opinion_ while offering no alternative solution. I’ve no need to add to said statement as I agree with its tenets. What about you, what are you doing right now aside from grieving opinions on the tubes? What’s your “knowledge to actually fix it” ?

  4. Why is everyone Ssuming its mental health. It could be alcoholic. Not every drunk is happy. Some get violent and belligerent

  5. There needs to be much harsher punishment deterent laws it seems no one is held accountable for thier violent actions against others I know it would strain resources but there should be TTC Police Officers on duty on every Subway train that can take action before these incidents get too far out of control

  6. We can except to see more of this as Canada has a mental health crisis, inflation crisis. We are a broken country.

  7. Mental health has become the scapegoat. It’s curious that the action and behaviour often causes harm to others. The entire message and system has to change.

    1. @James Noonan There was mention of hiring more security staff… this might be one of their solutions.

    2. agreed. the whole system is too soft on violence. i personally don’t care if the violence is mentally ill or sane, lock em up
