Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy addressed the controversy around Rep. George Santos (R-NY) as leaders of the Nassau County Republican Party called for Santos, who represents New York’s 3rd Congressional District, to resign from office over his lies to voters and fabrications about his personal life. Santos has said he will not resign. #ac360 #CNN #news

    1. I like the Fox job better, with their long list of crazies hell be right at home and their viewers will love him.

    2. According to Trump, most of the foreign countries only send their worst. He dropped the like about “and I assume some them are good people.”

  1. It’s good to see the Republicans stand up to lies when the lies won’t look good for themselves. I just hope they now remember this when voters are told lies by other politicians, even their own ones.

    1. @veganleigh that’s funny, Biden as VP had no legal right to have classified documents. Maybe if you actually knew what you were talking about, you might make such ignorant comments!

    1. He needs to be fired, dismissed and go to jail for stealing someone else check book and wrote checks on the account. That is a CRIME!!!!!!!!

    2. @miguel figueroa and I won’t answer the question, I’m making a point and you’re proving me right. You think politics is some sort of team sport, it’s not, grow up, figure it out.

    3. @Do’s Don’t you’ve proven yourself to be nothing but a troll with nothing of substance no real ideas j

    1. @Ronald Nixon Saying that somebody who obtained a position of power as a public servant by violating the public trust through what looks like fraudulent misrepresentation of his credentials and history should resign? I’d call it a common decency thing and the kind of thing that would get one fired from any other kind of job, but your opinion is your own. What are your thoughts on the new evidence indicating his campaign accepted illegal contributions from a foreign national who was caught smuggling people into the country illegally?

    2. If he hid it, he as guilty as New York State GOP. But since this is not a crime, they won’t get in trouble, nor should they. Santos will end up resigning because he is under investigation for campaign finance violations, defrauded multiple charities, and is wanted for financial crimes in Brazil.

    3. His vote ought to be “Vacated” making McCarthy’s speaker position “Vacant” and thus calling for NEW Votes 🤣🤣

    4. @cowardlycourage It’s always been a Democratic district, but was gerrymandered to grab more Queens Republicans. But guess what? Voters are united against Santos, regardless of party. We hate liars!

    5. @Ronald Nixon Hrm I suppose you think abortions happen after babies are born huh? Fucking hell, learn science I mean basic science isn’t hard. No one is killing babies once they actually become babies. Fetus at the most and prior to that it is a clump of cells. Unless the mother’s life is at risk. And please don’t pretend you have any idea what Sharia law is. If you cared about Sharia law you wouldn’t try to oppress women because that is precisely what it does. Women can’t drive under Sharia law, women can’t vote they can’t even choose their husbands. Are you fighting Sharia law for those reasons as well, or is it just to fit your ignorant uneducated narrative. Also keep your christian beliefs and values to yourself because they are just as bad as the Sharia law you are aiming to criticize.

  2. They need to run security clearance checks on all candidates. That would catch so many of these lies, and disqualify so many of these corrupt politicians.

    1. @DAVID KAMEN Yep no kidding‼️ The question is, when will Americans ever wake up and stop voting for these corrupted, liar, criminal, fraud, grifter, con, and etc. politicians⁉️ 😕🤨

  3. The local district GOP did not check any of his credentials. Well I hope somebody does a better job on checking on future candidates.

    1. @Porfirio Alvaradonone of them have warrants or any previous convictions or fraud cases pending. Santos is now under investigation by the FEC for campaign finance violations for taking money from a Russian oligarch.

  4. It is both mind-numbingly concerning, and not surprising at all, that McCarthy isn’t stepping in on this and will continue to seat the guy on committees.

It’s like saying, “yeah, I know this flaming dumspter fire is dangerous, and I shouldn’t bring it inside my house, but the fire is warm.”

  5. “Well, he hasn’t been charged, convicted, sentenced, hanged, tarred and feathered, or drawn and quartered, so he’s a Republican in good standing.”

    1. If he was drawn and quartered they’d just dump his rotting corpse in a seat and prop up his mangled hand for a vote.

  6. It’s unfortunate that background checks aren’t a part of the process to be able to run for office. Regular everyday people have to have background checks for a McDonalds job! 👀🤦🏻‍♀️

    1. the fact that the Rs didn’t vet him at all is painfully obvious. They can howl all they want, fact is they failed us all

  7. This is brilliant, Mc Carthy is being deliberately vague on this because if Congress representatives are going to be expelled because of abject lies then half the GOP reps will also have to leave!!

  8. McCarthy said “if there’s something he did which arises to doing something wrong, we’ll look into that”…. So he just admitted he doesn’t consider lying and lying to voters as doing something wrong. Nice for him to actually admit that.

    1. @Helen Byrd  go drink some more of that kool-aid. The democrats do nothing but lie and think it’s ok but if a republican lies you want to tar and feather them. Typical democrat double standard.

    2. He also said that other members of Congress have lied on their resumes, suggesting that that makes it ok.

    1. @jester 1two “quick…whatabout…” you obviously don’t want to talk about that…and for obvious reasons…

  9. Love this guy, he doesn’t just fib or embellish, he goes the whole nine yards, unlike most politicians.

    1. Kevin should be more like Supreme Commander Rep. George Santos, a former Astronaut who saved the earth from a Meteorite by flying to it, planting a bomb, leaving the astoroid, detonating the bomb and obliterating it just seconds before landfall in downtown New York…

That’s what he told me, anyway.

  10. So the new Speaker of the house shows such good morals and character. We just keep frauds and liars in their position. Our lawmakers are not looking out for the best interest of our country. This is disgusting in so many ways.

    1. I almost snorted beer out of my nose reading that. New Yorkers are not happy with this. George Santos has no idea how bad his private life will be. No one will hire him, ever. I think he’s worse off than Snowden, to be Frank. Oh wait, my name isn’t Frank. 🙃

  11. If anyone else did what George Santos did, would they still have their job?? Imagine a doctor, lawyer, teacher, police officer, etc lying about their resume!! Only in the congress is it allowed 🤯

    1. Private sector can fire immediately. Government has to follow guidelines especially when your last name is Santos. I worked government for 28 years.
