As an American I remember when the wall came down in Germany. My father was WWII veteran and never thought that would happen. I pray for Ukraine the people of Russia and all Europeans it sad that this is happening. I wish the German chancellor and Germans the best in these scary times we are living in.

Much respect and appreciation. Putin will step on everybody if not stopped. Liked what he said about social stability. We, in the US, might take a few lessons from him. Important for free western countries to stick together going forward. Thank you to Germany for their efforts and contributions.

@Yves that’s true, i don’t think there’d necessarily be an invasion of Russia any time soon. But if Europe had a large military (aka Germany had a large military), and wished to be independent of USA, i’d guess that’d be the most logical way to go. Not that I’m condoning it, i think it’d be a terrible idea.

THANK YOU CNN for giving Americans the chance to meet the German Chancellor. I loved this interview of raw, unrehearsed words. He is truth and class. When he talks of his allies, not only does he use the word, “FRIENDS,” I can genuinely see he means it. I see a man that leads with his Heart. That is why he is who he is.
U literally have to be a normal human being go distinguish that he’s not a bad but a good guy. Just a few words out of his mouth is enough. Sociopaths or fanatics ofc will disagree an see it as evil and Putin as a saint. Sick people. pity vibes

To the situation concerning the building of a tank factory in Ukraine, I suggest if built, it’s easily converted to building farm tractors. Surely this war can’t last much longer.
A brand new Rheinmetall production facility for the KF Kettenfahrzeug 51 Panther in Ukraine will not be set up before the war has ended. That’s what I heard from respected sources. It wouldn’t make any sense because wherever you go in Ukraine it could be reached by Russian cruise missiles. And, a total new system will take a minimum of 2 – 3 years to iron out the inevitable teething problems.
I have been very critical of the Chancellor but this interview is very enlightening. I hope this all leads to a stronger NATO alliance and stronger Ukraine and other countries like them who are threatened by Russia.
Your positive thoughts would manifest just keep thinking of the positive sides and send it to the energy field it would materialise, in other words let us keep on praying that this useless war ends ASAP!!

He is pretty authentic, his interview with Jake Tapper a while back was also much more enjoyable than anything he does in German.
