One of the fastest ways to be denied a security clearance, current and former intelligence officials will tell you, is to carry a load of debt. Trump owes at least $421 million of debt coming due over the next four years. Anyone who has ever held a security clearance as I have knows this.
For a sitting president, with the power to impose fear or favor across the country and around the world, not to mention access to the nation’s most closely held secrets, Trump’s debt and financial exposure is not just embarrassing, former intelligence officials and ethics lawyers say: it makes Trump a clear national security threat.
For a person with access to U.S. classified information to be in massive financial debt is a counterintelligence risk because the debt-holder tends to have leverage over the person, and the leverage may be used to encourage actions, such as disclosure of information or influencing policy, that compromises U.S. national security.
American banks stopped loaning Trump money a long time. This makes Trump an even more attractive target for foreign actors with deep pockets from countries hostile to America.
large unresolved debts would disqualify someone from earning a security clearance, according to the U.S. National Security Adjudicative Guidelines, which states that “An individual who is financially overextended is at greater risk of having to engage in illegal or otherwise questionable acts to generate funds,” the 27-page document says.
The fear goes beyond coercion or blackmail, especially for a sitting president. It could be that the Trump is susceptible to legal debt actions, which would encourage him to perform actions favorable to the debt-holding nations in order to avoid personal financial ruin.
It is unprecedented, dangerous and unacceptable for the President of the United States to be financially beholden to unknown actors, from countries like Russia, China, Turkey, and Saud Arabia.

I refused to watch it out of principle because it went exactly how I knew it would, with Trump rudely interrupting & attempting to bully Joe Biden.
Trump wouldn’t shut up and Biden never said anything about policy, he just said how bad Trump is but never said how he could do better or how. They both sucked.
Hillary didn’t have to be psychic to know that about Trump. He’s always been like this, it’s just finally being spelled out in round figures.

I just witnessed the 2020 Biden Trump debate and I don’t know if I want to dig a hole immigrate to Canada or buy a gun? But scary as it is it felt like I was in 1860 and the hatred between the North and South and the obviousness of how wrong The South was but they didn’t care they wanted slavery.
