  1. I think we need best before dates on Politicians. I don’t think you would be surprised how quick they rot to the core.

    1. @J F but did Pierre’s policies cause the inflation that required a salary increase? That’s what I thought..

    1. I expect to see them cans of “bully beef” from the Boer war to be sold as food now, maybe some dug up old pemican from 400 years ago.

  3. You know what Canadians want even more? The end of pre-tax prices on labels already. Tired of the prices of everything ending in 99 in an open shameless attempt to manipulate me.

    1. @Sabrina Clarus Sabrina Sabrina what a lovely name you sound exotic any who yes I do go on occasion to the one bucket store but I’ve never got out less than twenty dollars the should re name it the forty dollars store if you didn’t have an R in your last name you could have been Santa’s daughter cheers Scotty

    2. @Sabrina Clarus canadian prices are not real u still need to pay the taxes they dont add taxes in price tags

    1. Probably the ones that can’t afford the ridiculous high prices of food that is not marked down…

    2. Not necessarily the food but the packaging, bottled water has a bbd because the plastic bottle leaches chemicals over time

  4. This all about globalization. Because companies moved to countries that have cheaper salaries. And the shipping lane’s changing so food will take longer to get places. Also a power outage

    1. @Margaret Fraser Have you noticed that since the supply chain has broken down, alot of the merchandise we buy has a very near expiration date? This whole thing is to help businesses keep from throwing out merchandise. This system has always cared more about business than consumers.

  5. I’m confused, doesn’t everything have a bbd on it??
Honestly, I’ve got mustard in my fridge bbd a year ago and it’s still ok

  6. Best before dates are more of a rough guide. After you open something you accelerate the degradation of the food. If you don’t store it properly it will be bad faster.

Companies can’t make best before dates on most foods because there are way to many variables.

  7. The only things that need best before dates are perishable items such as dairy and meat. Produce doesn not. If you cant tell if produce is still edible or not then you lack common sense.

  8. What I like about Europe when you see. The price that’s what you pay the way we do it by adding tax after takes the pleasure of buying away
