  1. I’ve been a maternal fetal nurse at Mayo Clinic for over 25 years. She is a blessing to women.

    1. @Misinformation Task Force I appreciate your time and energy for replying may I ask sir pregunta why do I have hateful rhetoric maybe we disagree on some subjects and topics can we not agree that clean air water and food is not political and rhetorical hatred I don’t understand no habla English I would like to know how old you are how many countries you have traveled to and how many languages you speak and what your education level until then good luck amigo Rastafari yes I Tucson Arizona Sonoran Desert San Rafael Marin County San Francisco California United States of America Rastafari Africa

    1. @nev ana Why should “the people” have any say regarding which citizens have a right to make private medical decisions without the interference ofn the state? This argument is nonsensical.

  2. How to be sensitive enough to understand and nurture, a child victim, from this level of abuse…She has most of the country supporting her 100%, but the LEAST portion of society has demonized her treatment for abuse, with GQP-MAGA Christian excused behavior. Denounced and left as trash in Ohio, does she understand the betrayal to her? A level of ABUSE, no child should ever have to endure.

    1. These people are so sick that they even want to put a 10 year old thru so much misery and pain to keep a fetus alive that doesnt feel anything yet.

    2. @Paula Dwyer Paula, a 10 year old child can’t even consent to sexual activity. So how does it make sense to assume that a child can consent to having a child?

    1. No one is playing doctor. Our politicians are speaking for the people who disagree as to whether an unborn human being should have the same right to life as you and I.

    1. @Dooter Honestly, thank you, Dooter.

If I’m being honest, trying to debate with this individual has been nothing short of mildly infuriating, given their lack of willingness to intellectually engage.

Though you bring up a fair point, regarding your “dont argue with a-holes” sentiment.

Maybe I really should stop. It’s clear that they don’t actually want to have a conversation with me at all. I’m clearly just wasting my time the more I try to talk with them.

Nevertheless, I’m glad to see some reason within this comment section for once. It’s refreshing. I know you didn’t say much, but it’s better than what I’ve been getting for the past couple hours.

    2. @Eli Esh I’m happy to continue addressing any arguments. We left off with you thinking those not self-aware can be murdered.

I’ll lock my doors before sleeping tonight…

    1. Who’s gonna stand up for the unborn baby?? It’s sick how when they perform an abortion and they have to account for each limb and the skull in the heart and the organs to make sure they don’t leave anything behind. That’s a freaking human being they just dislocated and killed makes me sick

    2. @J Fetus doesn’t mean small child, what are you talking about?! It means an offspring of a human or other mammal in the stages of prenatal development that follow the embryo stage. In humans taken as beginning eight weeks after conception!

  3. I think it’s absolutely disgusting that abortion has become a political issue.

It is a highly personal medical procedure.

A ten year old little girl…thank God for this wonderful OBGYN.

    1. @Celeste Jacobs The organism is a SEPARATE, unique entity. There will never be another zygote formed with the same genetic code.

Should I be able to decide the fate of a separate, unique, individual human entity?

    2. @Matt Younts No it isn’t separate. If it’s separate there should be no issue with separating it from the woman’s body. If someone doesn’t want something inside of their body it isn’t staying there. Period.

    3. @J Um no, women’s limbs are not ripped off during an abortion. The embryo inside of the woman’s uterus is removed.

      You need to educate yourself.

  4. It was a humane thing the Doc did to saved the poor girl’s dignity and guard her family’s pride .. the world is a very cruel place , America not exempted

    1. I think she simply saved her life. A 10 year old body cant facilitate a healthy pregnancy without some sort of risk happening her dying is a very real possibility

    2. @Beth Sanchez Smith if any poor 10 yr old innocent girl is raped and sexually violated and impregnated forcefully without her consent , certain dynamics happens , she feels self loath , dirty angry and fears relationship with opposite sex , her family experience immense guilt for not protecting her enough and the ignorant cruel peers might taunt her and drove her to suicide , you probably overlooked the tragic repercussions that follows
There ought to be a reset to wiped clean the slate to set all of them free from predicament that was forced upon them isn’t it ? They still got so much living to do ahead of them , rigid dogmas kills people , inflexible laws that serves no justice or offers mercy kills people

  5. Women deserve the utmost respect. Anyone (especially religious extremists) who interfere with their rights, safety, health and happiness are simply put – an enemy to all women.

    1. @J Human bodies that don’t have consciousness are not even “living” anyway.

Consciousness is the very thing that defines whether a sapient person is truly alive or dead. A person cannot truly exist without it, otherwise they are the mere equivelant of a vegatable.

Now, I’ll say this one more time. That is not the same as a person being asleep or “unconscious.” Because in that state, the consciousness is still there, but it’s just dormant and inactive. Hence why it is wrong to kill someone in their sleep.

However, if the consciousness is just non-existent, as in there is absolutely no brain activity whatsoever, then that person and eveyrthing that makes up their identity is just gone. They are already dead.

You cannot assign personhood to a human body that doesn’t have a consciousness, regardless if it no longer has one or does not have one yet. For consciousness is what defines personhood to begin with.

I have spelt this out to you so clearly already.

Are you just intentionally misunderstanding what I’m trying to tell you? Because there is no way you are actually this dense.

    2. @Eli Esh Children in the womb are gone? Already dead? How are you still alive?

I’m going to stick with science…

    3. @Spank Buda Women already do respect their bodies.

The problem is, the people in the supreme court very clearly don’t. The same is true for a large majority of those who are on the political right-wing.

  6. Dr. Bernard is one of those increasingly rare individuals who put everything on the line to do what is right.

    1. @Killed The Cat ‘Science,’ ‘clinically dead,’ to answer your questions again: child is alive. Scientific fact…

    2. @J Cool! How? If a person is considered clinically dead, if they have no brain activity (or aka a functioning brain) outside of the womb, how are they considered alive inside of the womb?

    1. @Artistik Gaming I disagree with extremists on both sides of abortion issue. Indiana policy is about right could be expanded just a little bit.

    2. @Cynthi Carlson This is still the smartest take ive ever heard on this issue, and its disgusting that the people deciding womens rights arent even women

    1. I actually wondered how many young people got discouraged from going into the medical field, watching anti-maskers and anti-vaxxers behave the way they did during the heights of Covid.

  7. Abortion restrictions have never been about anything other than controlling and blaming women. This would never even be an issue if we were talking about a male and his doctor making a medical decision for himself.

    1. @JR Porter Awww! Still don’t feel better yet…huh, little one. That’s okay. Get it it all out. You can do it!

    2. @Killed: Anyone who insists that this *isn’t* abut controlling women needs to be asked: “Do you also support the govt deciding that you should give up an organ so that someone else can live, even if that procedure will change your health and your life forever, and possibly kill you? Because either it’s OK for the govt to control every citizen’s body, or it’s not OK. And if it’s not OK, then get your laws off of women’s bodies.”

  8. Imagine erring on the side of the life of the mother as NOT being in danger and then she dies! Additionally, the real threat is the HEALTH, not just the LIFE of the mother and thus the legal culpability of malpractice. Be careful fellow doctors what you decide regardless of state laws, EMTALA supersedes state law not just with LIFE of the mother but HEALTH of the mother. The law is on your side and your attorneys appear to be failing you in this regard.

What I would say to you personally Dr. Bernard is that you are being lied to about who has taken your right to be a physician, no one has done so. SCOTUS gave the states the decision making but EMTALA supersedes state law because it’s federal law. The fact that reproductive care docs are running scared is because your attorneys do not understand the rights of the patient, the overseeing of care by doctors, and that Federal law supersedes state law. PLEASE get the right attorneys Dr. Bernard. We need you doctoring, not thinking you are disempowered.

  9. I have an idea, what if we just stay out of people’s private lives, and leave it up to the woman to decide for herself. I mean it is HER body after all.

    1. @wildgoat – Because we are part of a civilized society has a common code of ethics to live by. It’s what separates us from a beast in the field that eats its own young. Our laws and individual rights are based upon such. The greatest right we have is the right to life. All but a true psychopath believes there kill a be a just cause to take a human life.

Those who desire to violate someone else’s right to life always want people to mind their own business. I’m sure Jeffery Dohmer would have preferred we mind our own business. We know the slave owners wanted people to mind their own business. That’s not the way it works in a civilized society though. We speak out against atrocities. If we didn’t slavery would still be legal, right?

How about instead of attempting to silence those standing up for an unborn human beings right to life you offer a moral justification for abortion? Such as imminent danger to a mothers life. That is a just cause according to our current laws and code of ethics. Let’s go ahead and add another 1% for impregnating by rape. Both combined only accounts for 2% of abortions performed so I’ll wait for you to explain the justification for the other 98%

  10. Thanking THIS Docto who was a HUMAN BEING & treated another human being with kindness and compassion. “Integrity,” doing the right thing, even if no one is looking.
