Prosecutors dropped Alec Baldwin's charges of involuntary manslaughter for a fatal shooting of Halyna Hutchins on the set of "Rust" in October 2021.

Charges against Alec Baldwin in the 2021 shooting death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of the film "Rust" have been dropped.
Baldwin's attorneys, Luke Nikas and Alex Spiro, confirmed to USA TODAY in a statement Thursday that prosecutors in New Mexico plan to drop the involuntary manslaughter charge.

The prop master and the armorer are responsible for the firearms on the set, not the actors.

@Luxury Queen Exactly. He wouldn’t know because it’s the responsibility of the prop master and the armorer to check the firearms not the actor. And that’s why they’re still being charged because it’s their fault.
He says he didn’t pull the trigger. Anyway ironic that an anti-gun activist is involved in a tragic death on a movie set. I still don get why if you don’t like guns you would want to be in a western using guns.
Maybe if he was educated in the use of firearms he would have been able to prevent the accident, even if it was not his fault.
I don’t like roller coasters, I sure wouldn’t get on one in a movie.

No, he wouldn’t. Actors are not responsible for checking firearms on set. That falls to the prop master and the armorer and that’s why they’re still being charged.

It was totally his fault. He didn’t check the pistol when he took possession of it. That goes against gun safety rules!
He walked because of money, power and fame. This wasn’t justice.
