    1. There is a Taxpayers petition going around here in Durham Region asking voters to sign it to say they do not agree with paying her debts and the pension.

  1. Another bad part is she will get paid over a 100k a year for rest of her life even though she was forced to leave/got fired… Waste of tax payer dollars!

    1. @Leonor Rivera How it works based on how the system was set up when the Queen had power. Another old law that should be done with but no one reviews these laws. Many are outdated. I mean life now is very very different than back then. If you the Gov. General you set for life apparently.

    2. allow me to introduce the Oakville and Mississauga gas plants.
The money it cost taxpayers could buy her pension for thirty years…………..

      thirty times over.

At least her pension gets Canadians military support from England. 100k annually is cheap for that kind of Navy

    3. @Helga Formo the need for a gg is antiquated. Surely there must be a way that we can remain a part of the Commonwealth, with the monarch as our figurehead without the need for a gg.

  2. The inquiry started in June or July…why did she only resign a week ago. It took more than half a year to ask someone some questions?

  3. this is Ottawa, where the gossip mill works in overdrive…even without a background check how did a starry eyed PM not hear rumours of this creatures personality before he gave her the position?

    1. Oh they heard. She had that reputation going back to University. But employers see what they want and tolerate all kinds of bad behaviour if it benefits them. This happens all the time.

    2. Semiramis47 – that is what I was thinking. This story didn’t get broke publicly until July this year. It is impossible that word wasn’t getting back to at least Trudeau staffers. The question is why did they choose to ignore it?

  4. Abuse in the workplace is wrong – once as a student I had a chef choke me with a broomstick handle and another cook intervened. As a student I was too afraid of losing my job to do anything. I am sure I am not alone. What is crazy is she will get millions in pensions no matter why she was dismissed.

    1. I think you are alone in-so-far as you were physically assaulted. It’s one thing to stay quiet with a rude employer because you don’t want to lose your job, it’s quite another to stay quiet when your are physically abused. That’s when you bring in the police.

    1. Polar Bear Speaking out against the current status quo of Liberals getting away with what average citizens couldn’t doesn’t make someone a right wing nut ball.

  5. I was talking with a friend of mine that knew her in University and he said she had that reputation back then. What’s disappointing to me is how much bad behaviour employers are willing to overlook when they see a win for themselves. She isn’t the only one to blame here.

    1. I’m wondering how the Queen herself and the Prime Minister overlooked or didn’t see any evidence of prior bad behaviour! You would think that her background would have been raked over the coals before being appointed to such a high post.

    1. She was absolutely qualified with her credentials and I bet her behaviour has been overlooked for years because of those credentials….who knew and astronaut could be that ignorant?

  6. Why is it that the continuing message is “CRIME PAYS” ?? Should not get a pension on my dime. That’s about what I get from Canada Pension so can’t afford to give it to her.

    1. If there’s one thing minimum wage workers are known for, it’s putting up with hard working conditions.

  7. Why was she allowed to address the Nation in the Throne Speech –
How is this kind of leadership tolerated through such high ranking office – smells bad

  8. The news used to be about what the yelling and screaming was about in the government, now it’s about the yelling and screaming. Feelings have been hurt. Stop the world!

  9. So this person has been this way for however long she has held that position and apparently her whole life and in all that time no one said a word to any news outlet? I find that hard to believe…especially when you can get lawyer’s documents showing all the dirty little details.

  10. How did these two inhuman beings get away with this for so long. Apologies after they were caught are worthless.
