Taller Height does seem to help, but not all world record holders or Olympic gold medalists are always tall. For example Kosuke Kitajima was 5’10” and Janet Evans was 5″5″ and they both dominated their event for years.
You can be 6 foot but if you don’t put the work in , 5 foot japanese men will crush you
