Officers were responding to a report of a man making threats, authorities said. The suspect was taken to the hospital, arrested on several charges and later released on bail.

State police said Sunday they would investigate the use of force. Crawford County Sheriff Jimmy Damante said during a news conference Monday that the incident is being investigated by Arkansas state police "as a criminal act."

  1. This is the most ridiculous thing I’ve heard today, how are you going to give somebody a paid vacation after they committed a crime?

  2. Congratulation to USA, who likes to point out human rights and when it comes it self gun terror and cases likes this they cut their ways in zig zag, so that they can keep up their mask of guardian of human rights and don’t have to do much as well.

  3. Always reverse the situation to see if it’s fair. If three thugs were punching, kicking, kneeing, and slamming the head of a cop already down on the pavement, even if the cop had threatened them, the governor would be calling for the maximum possible penalty, and have them in a cell within the hour, but because it’s a cop they get a free tax-funded vacation. This sort of reaction is fundamentally corrupt.

    1. If the case were reversed, they would have called in all sheriff deputies, State troopers in the area. And even the National Guard. They would have been shot before they got arrested in less than 48 hours.

  4. Put their Public Hazard bond up there. What you hiding crimes? Commercial activity. Tax avoidance? Securities fraud? Antitrust violations? The man getting assaulted is the beneficiary & the cops are now Trustees along with the county commisioners.

  5. The last time I saw someone get beat down like that was back in 1992, Rodney King, remember him? These incidents just makes you wonder how long police have been getting away with these types of beatings with no accountability. Well now, we have some, and these types of law enforcement individuals will pay the piper! 😠

  6. Fired them 3 …
    Take their pensions asap …
Give them all 1 year in jail for that …
Corrupt cops don’t deserve a badge

  7. This is what has been happening when no cameras were around to gather evidence. If it weren’t for the witness video, they would have gotten away with it. One of the deputies already had a compliant for the excessive force and was allowed to continue work. Supervisor should also be held responsible. The supervisors never supervise unless it hits the news. In the meantime, they are allowed to abuse their authority because it generates revenue for the government. It is called policing for profit. Isn’t this the stereotype for a cop in the South? It’s a stereotype for a reason. More common than they are willing to admit.

  8. This individual got Rodney Kinged without the use of the extra batons. No justification, time to serve some jail times and to pay for pain and suffering. When will they learn, we’re living in the information age.

  9. If this was my kid or brother, these cops would be getting a visit from me and family “members” the next day. Huge Lawsuit and Jail time coming

  10. There’s something SERIOUSLY wrong within Arkansas with their cops. They’ve pit maneuvered a pregnant woman looking for a safe place to park, a state trooper rear ended a guy and essentially assaulted him for getting mad, now this.

  11. It’s exactly what the law enforcement community represents, Now that everybody has cameras you guys are being exposed left and right. We need to demand accountability and transparency from every public official government employee we interact with
