With a new partner in Alix Klineman, April Ross has Olympic gold is in her sights. “But at the same time, it’s about the journey, it’s about the process and to be at the Olympics in general is such a huge honor," Ross says. "It’s so hard to do.’’
Since winning bronze at the 2016 Rio Games, Ross has not only continued conditioning her body but she also started conditioning her mind. “I think one of the biggest things it’s done for me, and it’s going to sound funny, but it minimizes the importance of what you’re trying to do in way,’’ she said. “So you keep everything in perspective instead of letting it get so big in your mind because that can create a lot of anxiety. As my career has gone on, there’s been bigger and bigger opportunities and more and more pressure and more and more expectations.’’
