  1. I’m from Chicago and I’ve seen some pretty wild winds but I don’t think I’ve ever seen them that high

    1. @Jason Boyce My brother lives there”California ” but I’m not sure where.. I’m in North Carolina.. crazy weather here as well we had a tornado touchdown on 28th of December that’s unusual for this time of year Right now it’s currently 75 out

    2. I remember in 2012?? SoCal had some pretty strong winds towards October/ November. I remember high school was cancelled for 3 days til they picked up all the fallen trees and debris from all the streets and restored power to the city.

    1. I’m waiting for the big earth quake hopefully it will start under Nancy peloci house and head towards Gavin newsom place with him inside

  2. I never thought I’d see the day when California would have more snow through the winter than Ontario, Canada, but apparently we’re seeing that day, we’ve had UK type weather here, rain, rain and more rain and have only had snow for 2 weeks total, spread out over 3 months, so far.

    1. Well, it depends where in Ontario you’re talking about because in southern Ontario, we don’t get a lot of snow the storm we just got a few weeks ago I’ve never seen anything like it in my lifetime we get a little bit of lake affect snow off of Lake Erie once maybe twice a year that leaves 6 inches but anything more than that is extremely rare here in southern Ontario northern Ontario that’s a different story they get a foot plus of snow every winter all you guys in cali hopefully that storm does last too long the storm we got it left southern Ontario certain parts of NY PA etc without power for days

    2. @SrgntSaltyNutz Yeah the polar vortex is sitting above the mid-west right now, where it’s usually above the great lakes, we’ve had record highs almost every day this winter, as you said, it’s insane! Stay safe!

    3. @Daylan M You east coasters have it easy, we get pounded yearly with a minimum of about 3-4 feet and in my lifetime I’ve seen snow cover hydro wires more than once. In 2008 we got hit with a storm that shut 3/4 of the province down for almost a week, we got 4 feet of snow in an 8 hour period while I was at work in London and right after work I spent another 18 hours driving cops around to calls on my snowmobile in the city (I purposely dumped one or two, lol). In 2003 we had so much snow that we had banks that were 20 feet tall, I jumped 2 semi truck and trailers on highway 4 that a friend photographed, I miss those days…lol

    4. Detroit Michigan had snow for the first time in years at Christmas but it’s gone now. We just don’t get snow like that anymore.

    5. We have dodged 3 bullets so far on the East Coast. 3 weeks in a row massive rain storms and if the temperature was about 4 to 5 degrees colder we would have looked like Buffalo.

  3. That’s not storm number 1, that’s storm number 2, with storm 3 out there coming this weekend. Storm 1 brought us 5 1/2 inches of rain this pas weekend. 1 day break, now another 3 to 5 inches from storm 2, with another monster coming this weekend. Rain forecasted for the next 14 days still. It’s only going to get worse

    1. It’s been nothing but drizzle and light winds here in SD. Kind of disappointed.

    2. Hit the central valley last night. I stood outside just to listen to the wind. You could feel the force of it

  4. I love the rain going on r now my st is not flooded or my backyard, I dont like how the news channels make it seem like it a problem its really not so serious there just small puddles. Lake powell is 36% full & Lake mead is like 35% full we still need more rain not a problem enjoyy it 😊

    1. It’s obvious from the way your comment is worded that you’ve no understanding of what you’re talking about.

  5. The most important thing when covering natural disasters is the images, this report is very limited in showing images of the area. CNN needs to improve on their work.

  6. I can’t believe people are asking if the drought is over. Sure, 3 days of rain makes up for 10 years of drought.

  7. Yep, coming down in record levels, even down here in San Diego. (mexican border for you who don’t know) Praying that all the extra water makes it’s way quickly to the dry lakebeds and rivers. Just….don’t drive. (uness you learned to drive in snow in northern states) It’s slippery out there. It always perplexes me how people deal with dark/rain etc. by SPEEDING UP. If it’s storming and you are on the freeway, SLOW DOWN. I’m that ol’ lady back there creeping along at a slow, steady pace, braking slowly and keeping space between cars. Arrive Alive, I always say.

  8. I pray for the safety of my fellow Americans. Be safe! I’m encouraged to see rain and increased snow pack, please be careful.

  9. I feel it’s gonna rain like this for days So let it rain down and wash everything away I hope that tomorrow the sun will shine With every tomorrow comes another life I feel it’s gonna rain For days and days

  10. The weather in Daly City is always windy and cold. Rust is very common there. A lot of homes were constructed in the early 40’s high mold and rust is very likely in that area.
