Four years later, Brian Kemp and Stacy Abrams renewed their gubernatorial grudge match in a Monday night televised debate ahead of the Nov. 8 rematch for Georgia governor. Unlike their 2018 race, the duo now count as seasoned politicians with national profiles. Their divergent visions for Georgia's future haven't changed much, though.

The candidates, along with Libertarian Shane Hazel, met as part of the Atlanta Press Club’s Loudermilk Young debate series on the first day of early voting. All debates hosted by the Press Club are available for viewers to watch on GPB.org and The Atlanta Press Club Facebook page.

The debate was wide ranging, with questions asked about abortion, education, voting rights, law enforcement, marijuana legalization, entrepreneurship, and even U.S. Senate appointments. The economy and inflation were among the few major issues that received little attention.

  1. if a leftwing lunatic can openly and accurately define the word “woman” in the comments, I will change my registration to democrat.

    1. @g11rfe87 no! someone has to really prove to me they are the best candidate …🤣🤣 you Crack me up , thank you for having this debate in a friendly and humorous way. We started rocky but we understood each other. 🙏🥰

    2. @Trina Necore lol. God forbid a person votes based on established core party values and policies. Not that complicated. Sure each side has some losers, but if you don’t understand the basic values of each party and their effect on things like the economy and constitutional freedoms then you know nothing of American history and politics. “waiting” for the magical candidate to sweep you off your feet is a misinformed way to vote, hence Obama and Obama v2. Good luck on your quest for political identity. It’s a hard concept for a lot of people these days.

  2. All told, it was a poor showing from Stacey Abrams. She probably needed a super-charged performance to close the gap between her and Governor Kemp, I don’t think she came close to getting it.
