California governor outlines plan to reopen

California Gov. Gavin Newsom outlined a framework for reopening the state's economy, stressing that he would follow the guidance of scientists and public health experts. He did not give a date that the current state-at-home order would end.

  1. “California governor outlines plan to reopen” should read “Governor considers plan to reopen”. Fail.

    1. Did you go to college? Do you not understand what ā€œoutlines plan to reopenā€ means? I take it you donā€™t. Have you written an essay before? What do you do before you write the essay?

    2. Magicnight Blue Iā€™ll take the test and I wonā€™t get a microchip but if you think you will then I guess thatā€™s your problem you can shout and scream about till you end up in a mental hospital idc

  2. Canā€™t believe this is so chaotic and unorganized in 2020. WTF was the government doing all these years??!!! A damn shame…

oh and making sure they don’t get caught with all this circus crap. Good luck everyone

    1. jamjedi1972 itā€™s California, this was happening before the king flu , these people arenā€™t citizens theyā€™re subjects . They traded legal weed for the first and second amendment and crippling taxes , luckily the rest of the country can see in real time how big a failure Californiaā€™s policies are and avoid the mistake

    2. pmh1nic I understand that, I really do. But you wonā€™t get it watching this channel or any of the media. So where do you get it then? I donā€™t know. Iā€™m frustrated myself. Good luck.

    1. Pvt Read The one recent ballsy move that I applaud Trump for is taking away funding from the WHO. These are the decisions presidents need to make when an organization is wasting our money and worried about posturing instead of doing what we need them to. Other than that, Trump has been a complete flop. Unfortunately we’ll have 4 more years of him.

    2. @David Gonzalez Exactly. No new information and no plan. Wasting time. Thank you. You can continue to suck on the tit of those who ‘outline’ old information all you want but don’t think everyone else is going to jump on the dunce-bus with you.

    3. Pvt Read I already said I’m not fan of Trump and I dont understand what you mean by his 10/10. Also, he went against WHO recommendations with closing china. Again, I’m no fan. I would have preferred to keep things open and make suggestions for how to interact; because we are going to suffer from this shutdown for years if it doesn’t get rolling fast. Theres already businesses closing all across the US. The last thing I wanted was more businesses being forced to be bought out and this did just that. If people hated big business before this, its gonna be the only option after this if it goes for too much longer.

    1. oh no fredo is tired of his uhm work on cnn maybe he wants to quit what are we all going to do now when we need fake news the most

    2. But, that’s reality; he’s saying that it’s a plan set for when the virus calms, but the virus doesn’t care about us, or our conceptualization of time. We are running by the beat of the virus’s drum, and we don’t have a choice.

    3. He’s saying my plan is TRUMP’S plan and he hasn’t told me yet.

    4. Of course the “when” is unknown, for now. Before Gov Newsom even outlined his 6-part plan, he said “Itā€™s still too early to say.” It depends on how the virus is affecting CA.

    1. @Kevin P The vaccine will kill more people than the virus, such as it is. The vaccine will also be mandatory.

    2. @Steve Scofield I’m staying put until a vaccine is created. Opening schools and businesses without a vaccine would only cause a second wave of infections. The Spanish Flu of 1918 killed people in 3 waves. Dead people can’t rebuild the economy!

  3. Thereā€™s literally ZERO traffic on the 405 and 101 freeway right now, which is every Los Angeles personā€™s dream. But thereā€™s nowhere to go. How ironic…

    1. People have places to go: 1) get food, 2) get medicine, 3) volunteer your services, 4) get exercise, 5) go to/from work, if you have an “essential” job. No irony needed.

    2. Iā€™m a essential worker in Sacramento and we still have a lot of traffic Iā€™d say itā€™s a tiny bit less than usual but not much of a difference.

Are you ok with dentures, socks for bras, a vaj that looks like it’s from the Arby’s menu, and wiry grey bush? Lmk son.

  4. I think this all sounds overly optimistic.

However, I truly hope that I’m wrong and they’re right.

    1. @Jack Jones Thats because the South Korean govt allowed private companies to administer tests. Thats the point im getting at here…Trump could have handled this without Chinese-like govt interference and militarization. But he didnt. Instead, he forced CDC testing kits/standards that didnt even exist yet. (All of this was happening before and during the time Washington/Cali/NY were getting their first cases)

Now that its out of hand, Trump all of a sudden wants to keep Federal govt away from the economy (ie. Not forcing GE to make ventilators bc theyre “tough negotiatiors”). Wrong decisions at the wrong time…no wonder we lead the world in cases

  6. ā€œstay home. save livesā€
ā€œyeah so uh, weā€™re going to make it so that nobody stays home & everything just goes back to normal lolā€

    1. You can fool some of the people some of the time, but you can’t fool all the people all the time!
Hospitals are getting up to 300,000 per Covid patient.
      Get it

  7. “I should point out that he is still in the middle of giving his remarks”
Really you couldn’t wait 15 minutes to let him finish his remarks on the plan to reopen before reporting on the plan to reopen. Maybe next time you decide to report the news, wait till the news has actually occurred.

    1. Where did you get your degree in Journalism from??
We are kinda of in a situation that any credible information that can be put out, should be put out as soon as possible.
He said the governor was still speaking, he was in no way trying to be sneaky about anything.
