China document leak shows flawed pandemic response

An unprecedented leak of internal Chinese documents reveals how the country mishandled the early stages of the coronavirus pandemic. The documents – from Hubei province, the site of the world's first known outbreak – show China announced misleading numbers of new cases and deaths, was hampered by an average three-week delay in diagnosing new cases, and experienced a huge spike in influenza in the epicenter province in early December.

  1. The USA has unparalleled integrity: Our mishandeling of the pandemic has been completely transparent for the entire world to see.

    1. @Joebidensmellsyourhair 123 Yeah? https://youtu.be/4_xQ5JisFuo?t=149 Here’s trump with China’s Xi at his Maralago in Florida. What happens when you meet another dictator like Kim form Korea and accept a soccer ball from Putin? Eventually, it starts looking like an elitefest of dictators doesn’t it? Ever been able to trust an axis of dictators before?

    2. @Joebidensmellsyourhair 123 And trump was totally wrong about everything else…. also, he was awfully pally with china when he was trying to wheel and deal in his usual incompetent way….. he didn’t get his way and then, as usual, turned on them. How could anyone believe anything trump said?

    3. Only in New York to be honest. The rest of the world and im part of the rest of the world find USA Lefties the best joke to hit the world.

    1. @Colin Lee pandemics are not natural infections are and they can be controlled like zika,nipah,sars,etc.. CCP deliberately converted an infection into a pandemic by restricting data about it…no one need a degree to understand it…

    2. @anshull maharajj How funny is that you think all the infections could be controlled? Ten years later, every country could claim they controlled the infections when the virus disppear naturally. How blind you are! I am shame for you.

    3. @N N Wow you have super brain, single cell? Please don’t follow you CDC advise and start to campaign to all America need not to worry about Covid, if you are dead well it is just natural. Good luck dude, you really amused me well. How do I pay for your beer?

    4. @anshull maharajj Do you have any knowledge about Sars?Zika? Niaph? Tell me about the period time of none symptom in each Virus.

  2. When you point one finger at someone , you need to realize that you are pointing three fingers at yourself.

    1. What the heck does that mean!!!???? So I say sorry China your botched coverup of a serious pathogen means i covered up a deadly pathogen 3 times….sorry just a dumb statement.

    2. @Vlad The Inhaler :- Reminds me of the influenza pandemic of the last century…a lot of finger pointing. Even to naming the pandemic the “Spanish Flu” though today we know that the flu outbreak started in New York, USA. It was first reported in Spanish newspapers because the U.S. Army & government were keeping the flu “secret” …hence the name “The Spanish Flu”, but history books should be calling it the “American flu”. So much for full disclosure.

    1. @Spaide man no. You made a claim, I asked for you to provide a link. You asked me the same question, I obliged. You baby? You’re a waste, good riddance.

    2. @Michael williamson u ask for link that is tough to find, not those easily found by typing 3 words in google, understand? baby

    3. @Spaide man really? I guarantee you will find millions of articles. Especially using google as your search engine. You just can’t guarantee the claim is true. I just searched and there’s a lot of articles. You’re just lazy.

    4. @duong duong yes yes because china is allowed to tell other nationalities that they arent allowed to return home.

  3. Hey, that was in December 2019, 3000 people were punished. Today is Dec 1st 2020 in America and what are we doing?

    1. @sven svensson Why wouldn’t he be right. He knew about it and didn’t warn us.. neither did. Birds of a feather slaughter together

    2. @Amend the Constitution to Remove Pathological Liars hmm yes I’m so happy that Honda was the first company to find three ways in one shot to pollute the world 🤣🤣🤣🤣 the hydrogen you need the fact that it consumes a hell of a lot of oxygen, oh luckily it at least only emits water, cute. But I will say in my experience Honda appears to be one of the last reliable types of tech around, considering how fast everyone is trying to push new energy ideas, not enough time in there to fix the bugs. Honda seems to have removed all their bugs before release, much smarter than most.

    3. @Todd Daniel that’s what you get out of being told China released this on purpose and you blame Trump…You freaking leftards are truly brainwashed, smh you people make me sick…..

    4. @Can’t Get Right worst president we could have had during a pandemic, totally inept and irrational, pathetic responds

    1. @JohnPaul Jones I found a COVID strain study from PNAS https://www.pnas.org/content/117/17/9241. It shows that the Asian strain is different with the other two strains found in Europe and America.
And I also found this news, https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.scmp.com/news/china/science/article/3094130/italys-earliest-coronavirus-strains-did-not-arrive-china-study. But I couldn’t find the linked paper, maybe it haven’t published yet.
Sorry I don’t have the conclusion yet, we certainly need more studies. But the story definitely getting interesting.

    2. just adding from that study

“Among the beta-CoV group (lineage b) four R. ferrumequinum CoV strains (4019, 4027 site CN6 and 4674, 4675 site AL11) cluster together with other three Italian beta-CoV sequences from the same species (AN: KC33198–200). Interestingly, the 4027 sequence is 100% identical with 4674 and 4675, although originating from two R. ferrumequinum roosts located at 130 km distance.”

    3. But this is what you don’t know. Recent tesing has found Covid-19 infections in the U.S. in December 2019, according to a study, providing further evidence indicating the coronavirus was spreading globally weeks before the first cases were reported in China.

The study published Monday identified 106 infections from 7,389 blood samples collected from donors in nine U.S. states between Dec. 13 and Jan. 17. The samples, collected by the American Red Cross, were sent to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for testing to detect if there were antibodies against the virus.

“The findings of this report suggest that SARS-CoV-2 infections may have been present in the U.S. in December 2019, earlier than previously recognized,” the paper said.

    1. @Kris Frederick for sure. It is really your choice for yourself, your family, your love ones, your community, your country, your valuable and whatever else related.

    2. Do they wear it? If they are not wearing it, they couldn’t wear it properly, no? Just like they didn’t respond to the virus, so there won’t be mistake. No work no mistake =)

  4. USA: 5000 per day? that’s some rookie numbers.
in all seriousness, the numbers aren’t that far off, and considering the fact that there were a serious lack of testing kit when the pandemic first began, it’s understandable that some were not diagnosed. later the diagnosing criteria changed when CT scans are added, and the numbers became more reliable.

  5. Now we know where trump got his model on how to deal with and report positives, hospitalized, and deaths from covid. Almost a year later, nothing has changed.

  6. CNN’s leak document: Chinese are communicating internally in perfect English!!! in China.
    Interesting thing:
    1. CNN Reporter work on this case is Nick Paton Walsh

    a. who speak English/Russian
    b. in his bio, his work is focused on ME (Christian-Muslim-Judaism related content)
    2. Wikileaks, Snowdon, Steele dossier and Panama paper are “released” to media in London

  7. I like how this information is coming out not even a month shy of the elections. The zombies would say your a conspiracy

  8. Did people know enough when China built a couple of hospitals, locked up a city of more than 10 millions, and shared the DNA sequence? No. People are still debating about mask wearing even today.

    1. @kongming2005 I know what the false claim was. I know what DNA sequencing is..
We paid our taxes so our CSIRO could sequence the DNA. Second only to Taiwan.

China finally shared after the international community already provided it.

    2. Cut the lies. You get a mystery illness like the flu and your tests come up as UNKNOWN then you immediatly sound the damn national horn and lockdown like a real leader

    3. @Anyazelie M. Zéphyaire And even now this kind of garbage “news” is another form of self-denial, which makes the show even better for us.

    1. Sooo we the “Deplorables, Nazis, Xenophobics, ect ect.” Were right allll along. You know when we fucking said it was Chinas fault and the Democrats blocked the travel ban from China to here? So NOW that we are all kn the same fucking page (not really you guys are still well behind) are we gonna blame Nancy for rallying to block the travel ban which lead to the Virus spreading faster over here, due to Chinese coming over with it? Or are we going to continue acting like fucking stupid children? Seriously pathetic…. All of you left wing losers.

  9. Of course the initial response is going to seem chaotic and disorganized. Like you said., they didn’t know what the had, they didn’t know what they were dealing with, the most earnest words of this clip. Yes, this was new, brand new, a never been seen by human eyes virus. So many questions, how is it attacking the body, how does it transmit, is it airborne or is on contact to contact, what are the symptoms, how long until symptoms appear, it has flu like symptoms – how can diagnosis be determined on initial examination, can a 100% diagnosis been determined, how long after infection can we be certain it is covid, how long will a patient be infected, and what are the recovery timelines, how infectious is this, how quickly can it infect a person, how deadly is it, and how quickly can it transmit, do we have enough information and we are confidant that the information is based on 100% verifiable confirmed cases and deaths, is this virus potentially a new global killer or are we been overly dramatic, how fast does it spread and who is the most vulnerable…. Questions, questions, questions, more questions than data available. Yeah, you damn right it was chaotic, how could it have been any other way..?
It would’ve been like this in most countries, everybody scrambling, trying to share information as broadly and as quickly as possible, new information coming in every hour, people dying, doctors flailing, nurses spinning, everyone doing everything they can to heal their patients, calm family members and to keep their heads above the chaos, with minimal information, no cure and no known therapeutics and another patient dying and still no answers.
