    1. I notice that they are no longer fighting at that airport are they? In fact those that survived would be rotated back in as a natural course of military Doctrine. So you can confirm that they didn’t die at the Battle for the airport so of course they will be rotated back in to die somewhere else. Never waste cannon fodder is how Russia does its battles.

    2. @KHA-ID imagine being so unconfident in the the quality of your content that you have to hijack discussions of war and suffering and pretend your video is relevant.

    3. They were thinking, “where the fk is our reinforcement?! before they fought mostly to the death trying to hold the airport.

Of course, the reinforcements that came in by air after the initial wave only thought ,”fk, did our plane just get hit by a SAM?” before they died in the crash.

    4. you use ORCS as if its a bad thing…i think you have no idea what an orc is…i geuss its better than an American KLINGON

  1. I remember watching every one of those moments live. This is an awesome recap of Matthew’s reporting of Ukraine this year. Keep it up.

    1. @Brian Markey Ukrainian Nazis have a hundred-year history. They fought on the side of Hitler and surprised even the German Nazis with their atrocities. The current Ukrainian Nazis worship Hitler and all Nazi criminals. Their atrocities defy human understanding.
And today there are thousands of witnesses confirming the atrocities of the Ukrainian military against civilians and prisoners of war. Ukrainian Nazis cut off the hands, legs and genitals of prisoners of war and civilians.
Have you heard about the Volyn massacre of 1939? Ukrainian Nazis under the leadership of sadistic Bandera brutally killed thousands of Poles in Volhynia. They even killed babies. They nailed them to the gates with daggers. Poles fiercely hate Ukrainians. And the fact that they are now being forced to accept them in their country is an outrage against the Polish people.
And the Ukrainian Nazis rob and burn the corpses of Polish mercenaries in Ukraine.
In Soviet times, Bandera did not receive support. But after the collapse of the USSR, the United States began to actively promote Nazism in Ukraine. They “presented” school textbooks to Ukraine, in which every word propagandized Nazism and Russophobia and incited interethnic hostility. Many generations of schoolchildren have grown up on these “textbooks”. These are people with a sick mind. They firmly believe in the superiority of their nation. They celebrate Hitler’s birthday and get tattoos with his portrait and swastika.
And in 2013 the United States carried out a coup in Ukraine, overthrew the legitimate government, brought the Nazis to power and ignited a civil war. The Ukrainian Nazi puppet regime, supported by the Americans, for 9 years brutally tortured and killed peaceful Russian-speaking residents of Ukraine and bombed Donbass. Russia has been asking the West to stop the genocide for 9 years, but the West only mocked and imposed sanctions. Russia has endured for a long time, but every patience comes to an end. And the residents of Donbass have officially turned to Russia for help in the fight against Nazism and genocide.
Therefore, the Russian and Donetsk military are now fighting in Ukraine against the Ukrainian-NATO Nazi regime.

    3. @Муса Халилов You dare reply back? Well at least your response isn’t ukraine and russian related but instead my health condition? Ha looks like I was right all along. There is no point arguing with you hence it’s just endless and pointless.

  2. I remember when this correspondent was standing and babbling while Russian soldiers were moving around behind him. I shouted ( both in english and swedish) at my screen: “What the f”*k are you doing?! To be honest; I was surprised at his gullability.

    1. @WarSprite no, not at all.. Forest Gump is a work of fiction and real people do not have the luxury of plot armor.. Which is precisely why deciding to traipse through the smoldering remains of an active warzone unaided is absolutely asinine. The shot could easily have been achieved to the same effect by standing in the foreground with the destroyed vehicles in view behind him. There’s literally no logical reason he needed skip around the wreckage and still warm bodies, picking up the debris and posing stoically for the camera other than to sensationalize the events and sell his footage. That is not reporting, that is exploitation and could have gotten him, and his camera person, killed for no apparent reason.

    2. @Evangeline (Addendum added to this After initial post- I’m trying to remember who this was based on so I can look them up in the CMOH archives but for the life of me haven’t been able to get a hold of it yet, which might take some time and If I’m wrong I hereby apologize and do agree that you may be right but for the life of me, I seem to remember he was based on a real person. My bad for being one of those fallible humans.)

Hint: Forrest Gump, the Person is Not Fictional, you can even look up Bubba Gump Shrimp Company (see pictures of him with President Richard Nixon) on the internet and Then I would submit you have Never Ever had battle buddies / brothers / sisters or even an acquaintance Inside those War Zones.

Of course it is insane, because it IS War in the truest sense of the word which By even the Definition of the Word, IS Insane for anyone to deal with, at all, even when considering the aftermath.

If you are ever dumb enough to want to go into one (a War Zone i mean), I’ll take you tomorrow And I’ll even promise to bring you back (no promises on whether you will be alive or dead when I do so since it is Combat we are talking about here, where there is nothing guaranteed, even the promise of a tomorrow).

We’ll meet up, you get to pick the direction and I will walk you into one (with the State Departments blessing, which might be the hard part) where you will Learn, whether you want to or not, about how nasty All of them can be.

Warning though: You’ll be carrying some of my medical gear when you do (What? you thought I was going for the view?).

    3. @Martyn Eggington Sure, I’m whatching this war from afar. But the reality is that I’m the proud mother of a soldier who has done four tours in Mali already and has done many “brave things”. So I’ve been living with the concept of war for many years.

    4. @ishmyboy I don’t agree with you. Ukrainians speak Ukrainian unless encountering Russians, since THEY only speak their own language. Noone, but a few lazy American journalists (it appears) mistook or confused Russian soldiers for Ukrainians.

  3. Matthew’s report is the purest distilled history. Future generations must see this report. He arrives outside Gostomel airport on the first day of the war, films a group of soldiers. He asks their commander “Where are the Russians?”. The commander confused by the question answers “We are the Russians”. Talk about the fog of war. This video is a unique perspective on history as it unfolds

    1. @ЭЮЯ I am from Russia and I speak both Russian and English. I can read the news from both. And it is clear that Putin’s propaganda is absolutely ridiculous lies. They are not even trying to make it believable. It’s almost childish levels of lies. I don’t understand how can anyone believe that when there is so much lies. Putin has brought great shame to Russian people. I am ashamed to be born in Russia. I am never going back there. It’s so sad Putin destroyed Russia

  4. I have to give this man credit, he owns his mistakes. He begins with how he believed Russia wouldn’t invade, right before hostilities begin. Then misidentifying the Russian troops.

    1. @Tyler Elissa look up in YouTube documentary on the 93rd brigade in Ukraine. It really covers well how the invasion started in 2014 and why the Ukranian military has learned from the mistake then and was able to successfully stop there capitol from being taken this time around in 2022.

    2. @Garcia Rogério Not just that, Russian soldiers (without their official uniforms) have pulled triggers at Ukrainians since 2014.

    3. I’m sure he’s regretting this it’s just he sees no way out can’t capture Ukraine capital can’t pull out without something to show Putin has a problem

  5. You’d never think that Matthew Chance has balls of platinum, but clearly he does. I remember all these postings, esp. the one where he comes face to face with Russian soldiers in Gostomel — not one gesticulation or drop of the mike. May Mr. Chance continue his incredible reporting. Merry Christmas Matthew!

    1. @Save 🇺🇸 Good Question! You can bet their Democrat buddies will get lots of contracts to help rebuild Ukraine. While of course we the taxpayers pay for the war. As will our prodigy pay for all the deficit spending.

    2. If Do you want to see brave reporting watch “Five came back” the documentary about the five Hollywood directors who made it back from filming World War II, many of whom were wounded in combat well they filmed combat within feet of them. End it goes without saying many of those reporters of World War II never came back because they were mortally wounded while filming. Now those guys were brave, and had balls at platinum. So if you wanna polish this guy platinum plated wooden balls, you go right on ahead, but these guys were the real original brave reporters facing death regularly. Many of the original badass reporters never came home from WW2.

    3. @johnny nephrite it wasn’t a war zone when he first arrived. The possibility was being talked about, but nothing had happened yet. So not know all the differences in the opening hours, and days is forgivable. Especially since both countries speak Russian.

  6. I was up all night when the invasion began. I had several tabs open with things such as, flightradar, shipradar, shortwave radio, news channels and many street cameras in Ukraine. I remember hearing Putins speech as it came up right in the middle of the UN meeting. I saw the first missiles come in near Kharkiv and i also remember seeing Matthew live as you could hear bombs in the background. It was abseloutly surreal and I was crying. By the way I have a video with a recording of (what I believe is) russian chatter on shortwave radio, that I caught around 30 min before the invasion began. I havent found anyone that could help me get it translated if anyone would be interested in helping. Its on my channel.

  7. I remember seeing his tears. It was so sad, but he is a strong leader. God give him strength, and protection to carry on and defend his country.

    1. @Raging Monk blah blah teen boi, go play some more games and live in your little fantasy bubble 🫧

    2. @Magpie Girl Zelenzky comedia clown could just sign that Minsk agreement instead of liberating cities by his heart 😂🤦🏽 I feel bad for the civilians but zelenzky and his nazi regime not so much …

    3. @Кевин Халил 666 Shows how much you understand about the Minsk agreements and why they did not work. And Zelensky was not President when they were initiated. Please p[rovide evidence of the so-called nazi regime … please also research how many neo-name groups are operating throughout the world and which ones actually have seats in their parliaments. Should keep you entertained for a while.

    4. @Кевин Халил 666 If you took the time to understand what you were looking at while snooping on my channel. I build gaming PC’s, because I am not a stupid Orc from a dirt poor, third world country.

    5. @Кевин Халил 666 Also, tell Putler that had 21,626 Russians seek asylum in America already and many more are waiting at the border. lol

  8. Never doubt the might & determination of an angry granny👵 From homemade molotov cocktails to poisoned borscht they have made their presence known. Each & every person worked together to protect what they love; home.

    1. @NorthForkFisherman 😂 Too bad most of them do not have the portable Chicken leg house to just move if shells are hitting nearby.

    2. @Corinne M. Yes grannies are definitely famous for their ability to quickly and effectively kill and maim attacking brigades of soldiers, and that’s just when they work alone! I shudder to think what would happen if anyone met a whole pack of them, especially if they have been out plundering tea. God help the Russians.

    3. @ЭЮЯ she is a “troll” for recounting a widely reported news story?! What does that make you with an absurd name like @user-si2dr1pn3p denying such such stories with zero proof and empty insults? Nice try, orc scum.

  9. Damn, Matthew was so lucky meeting adequate russian squad xD
Cause just a day later these animals lost their human faces and started shooting civilians and press aswell. The reporters from Sun been ambushed and somehow managed to survive when their car was shot multiple times from small arms…

  10. I remembered the minute Mathew was live and the pure terror on his face the minute it registered it was really happening. He and all the crews have been such a powerful tool in bringing this conflict relevancy and what’s at stake for all.

  11. In the West, the Ukrainians have taught us a salutary lesson of how easy it is to take freedom for granted. I’m continually impressed and humbled by their calm, dignified courage and practical approach to their situation. An extraordinary people.

    1. Freedom in Ukraine? They do whatever the Americans tell them. Have since 2014, now they are paying the price. If you think the Ukrainians are winning, I have a bridge to sell you.

  12. All of Matthew Chance’s stories amount to two things: he’s very brave, and his situational awareness is less than stellar. He is lucky to be alive.

    1. Luck has nothing to do with it. leni riefenstahl lived to over 100 years old. It seems when u run propaganda for nazis. You get to live.

  13. I think about those brave Ukrainian men who gave their lives on those very first hours of the illegal Russian invasion they gave the ultimate sacrifice rest in peace brave soldiers . 🇺🇦 As well as the brave civilians

  14. “we are the Russians…” OMG, it’s like wandering into the lions den and saying, where are the lions. What a shock.

  15. If anything this conflict really highlighted the price of underestimating a leader by looking at his profession. Like if you look at Putin, he is KGB born and bred, you’d think he, if anyone from the USSR system, would appreciate accurate information over the information that just tells him if he is right, which doesn’t appear to be the case any more. And you look at Zelenskyy and you might have thought he was a bit of a joke, a comedian who played president on TV (when he wasn’t voicing Paddington Bear), was actually elected to the seat of president (maybe as a protest?)… the people in Russia might have thought he had a cardbord spine, and lo and behold he can also morph into Bruce Willis and be a wartime president that actually appears to know what he is doing. (Also he seems naturally gifted with a massive pair of fortitudes for venturing to Bahkmud ‘The Meatgrinder’ to hand out praise to the soldiers fighting there and less than 48 hours later, stand in Congress delivering a speech.)
