An explosion rocked and partially collapsed a massive bridge that connects Russia-annexed Crimea with Russia on Saturday, a setback for Moscow's war effort that was quickly celebrated by officials in Ukraine.
Russian authorities said a truck bomb caused an explosion that killed three people and temporarily halted vehicle and train traffic over the longest bridge in Europe — a multi-billion dollar project that opened in 2018 and is a physical sign of Russia’s claim on Crimea. It's also a key supply artery for Russian troops.
Kyiv stopped short of claiming responsibility, but the attack drew gleeful celebration among some officials. The official Telegram account for Ukrainian Parliament posted a photo and a video of the explosion early Saturday morning praising the blast. The Ukrainian postal service pledged to issue commemorative stamps commemorating the bombing.

I don’t know what took “whoever'” so long to start blowing up supply lines. Like very early in the war when the Russian army sat in a long convoy for days without moving,,, what a target, yet nothing. At least this will disrupt the Russians from resupply. “They” should attack anywhere they see Russian troop accumulating, or at the very minimum be ready to take out the roads once those troops cross over into Ukraine.

From what I can tell. It hit the road bridge from the outside edge while a train was passing. The blast destroyed the outer edge and did major damage to the inner edge making it unusable for mass transportation. The explosion also happened to ignite fuel cars on the train or some other cargo which led to a fire on the upper train bridge. All bridges may be functionally out of order as the train bridge will need more structural integrity which may have been lost by the explosion and the remaining span will have been damaged enough than any supply transportation or mass of vehicles. would risk destroying it completely.
Good point and especially about the train bridge being weakened. Russia trying to tell us this will be fixed soon but I think your right. There is a lot of refitting and restrengthening needed on parts that dont even look affected.
The intense heat from the fire that burned for hours I guarantee you it caused structural damage that we can’t simply see on the video. It might take them 1 or 2 weeks (working 24hrs) to fully repair it.

Trains already back in service
If it us back in service it won’t be safe to use. I grew up in a small Midwestern town that had a lot of trains going thu. Hugh switch yards and a roundhouse. Trains loaded with heavy military equipment will be a huge stress on those rails. Vibrations will bring it down quickly if not fixed properly. Everytime that space between cars adds up quickly.
Imagine blowing up a bridge with civilians on it just to make a “happy birthday” joke.

Ehhh, this was not just Ukraine…there’s more to this. I see high end military grade explosive. Like a nano thermite. Those big chucks of embers is molten steel spewing from the reactions eating into the metal. Always sad to me when civilians of any nation get caught in the middle of some terrible event. Just look at those cars. Driving thinking probably what they’re gonna have to eat at their next stop. And then boom. Gone.
Please people with everything going on right now we don’t need hatred or 👏 or who won the war we need peace with one other we were created by the same God just in different parts of the world it doesn’t matter who has more territory or not they need peace in there hearts for all the wrong doing. Russia is beautiful you can see it from Alaska. There people there culture there homes . There woodworking dolls . I mean every country every state has something beautiful we need to be proud we’re alive and no war
