I notice that Trump prefers to focus on soft targets like these freshman Congresswomen. He knows his base will pounce on them at his command. He refuses to engage with seasoned politicians because they will reveal his flaws. Trump can’t hold an intellectual candle to people like Elizabeth Warren or Kamala Harris.
Trump always takes the easy route and his base will do the dirty work for him.

@Star Wolf The war in Syria was started by ISIS. Obama helped broker the plan that got the vast bulk of Syria’s chemical weapons out of Syria. He got Syria to agree to removing the WMD (possibly by pointing out the danger Assad was in by losing control over them). He helped broker the plan for Russia to transport the accumulated WMD from collecting points to the Syrian border. Without Russia agreeing to the transport, Assad would never have let the WMD go. Russia was the only acceptable transporter strong enough to move the WMD to where they were loaded on ships guarded by the American Military. American Military made sure the transport was guarded after the WMD left Syrian territory. The most dangerous WMD were destroyed in transit, while sailing to end destinations, to avoid losing them to an outside attack or risking release during transport. The rest were destroyed over time and at places where destruction could be safely carried out. Obama was not the only person who got this incredibly important task done, but his participation was a key ingredient. There is a report on all of this effort by the UN and it is worth finding and reading. Imagine what would have happened if ISIS had managed to overrun the WMD security plan Assad had set up. Just imagine what would have happened if the chemical attacks that did occur in Syria had not depended on combining two common household ingredients but had been carried out with far more lethal chemical weapons. Imagine what we would be dealing with if the supply of really horrible deadly WMD had gotten under the control of international war lords selling them around the world. At a time in American politics in which American virtues are not in control, we can, at least, respect the good things we have been a part of in the past. Is that too much to ask of one another?

Why there is even a scintilla of doubt about whether Trump’s comments are racist is a very large mystery to me.
So 68% of americans think trump is a racist now, but the other third love that about trump. His crowd are sounding more and more like intolerant fascists. They don’t care about policy, because that is less important for them than white nationalism.
