Dems invoke the words of late Sen. McCain during Senate impeachment trial

Impeachment House manager Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) used video footage of late Sen. John McCain during the Senate impeachment trial to exemplify the threat posed by Russia to Ukraine over the course of history, and to reinforce the notion that support for Ukraine is critical to US national security. CNN's Jake Tapper and Wolf Blitzer discuss with CNN legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin. #CNN #News

  1. I wonder what it must feel like to be a yes man, live in fear for your job a and know that your not true to yourself….

    1. @cj p are you saying that those sexual assault charges against Kavanaugh we’re just allegations? Are you saying that dotard actually hired someone without a sketchy background? Get real. Everyone that has been around dotard everyone that dotard protected are either criminals or sketchy people. Get off your high horse take those sunglasses off so you can see the truth oh yeah and you also have to stop watching Fox News

    2. @Major Minor oh yeah? Why isn’t Jonathan Turley defending the president? Because at the end of the hearing he conceded that a president can and has been impeached before for abuse of power.

    1. Pam Schobelock i def think he was misguided and under the control of the military industrial complex for sure. He was also an evil man, responsible for the deaths of thousands. Glad he is gone.

  2. This isn’t even a trial this is damage control and a PR campaign to retain voters this election they know this won’t end well in the senate.

    1. Peaceful transition of power REQUIRES we accept the results of an election…After this, why should anyone accept a president they dont like? Its all so fucked…. See you in November TRUMP 2020 (and I dont even like the guy, polices work though)

    2. @cj p sorry.

I didn’t know you guys come Here.

      I’m impressed.

To State the obvious however, it does not matter who wins the election the only thing that matters is the evidence and facts of the case.

      Schiff just obliterated you guys.

And now you are all reduced to making stupid quips again.

I like he pointed out that the house can make its own rules of impeachment and in fact did.

And that Trump has absolutely no basis in preventing people from testifying the house and he was such a coward that he did not even claimed executive privilege!

Not to mention the fact.. oh wait I forgot you can only deal with one issue at a time, sorry.

    1. @duyagetme Can you even tell me how Russian interfered in the 2016 election? How exactly did they accommodate Trump? Could it be Hilary SUCKED? Perhaps after Tulsi gets her $50M she’ll be more careful with who she calls a Russian asset.

    2. @Tommy Thompson you could read all about how Russia hacked into our voting systems and our utility databases and other things.

This is of course on top of a concerted campaign on social media to cause conflict and division.

And they also send spies to various places like the NRA. Apparently the NRA give lots of money to Trump.

But by far the Russian hacking and they coordinated wikileaks dump helped out a bit.

the point is not that their attack caused the election to be swayed in one direction or another, it isn’t that the president denied confirming the identity of attacked us.

I could go on but I’m sure you’re not around anyways so what’s the point?

    1. Thomas McCracken
      Unemployment lowest since 1969
      December added 145,000 jobs
Wages were up 2.9% with African Americans and Hispanic seeing the biggest gains. Stock Market breaks records almost daily and will break 30,000 within the next month
GDP is 4.0%. Obama said we’d never see 2.5% again and 1% was the new norm. Signed USMCA (Obama couldn’t do that in 8 years), signed phase one of a new trade deal with China worth 220 billion dollars. Working on prescription drug reform
Energy independent for the first time in 75 years, NATO is finally paying their own way. More trade deals in the works with Japan and the UK Signed VA reform and a middle class tax break is in the works
You can call that a minimum wage economy if you want. I got laid off twice under Obama, but my same company is paying me more than I’ve ever made and offering huge sign-on bonuses and my son just got a job right out of high school making $18 hr with no experience. My question is what have the democrats done in 3 years ???? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

  4. Don’t drain the swamp.. electrifying it is way better because you’d see everything come up to the surface.

    1. @vrnc M I’m not a liberal. And I’m not a warmonger. McCain was not a decorated hero because he was a warmonger, but because he served our country. Are those with traumatic brain injuries in Iraq tonight, “warmongers”? I guess they are, by your definition.

    2. @Major Minor Trump is forever impeached. In history, for all to see. Nothing going to change that, bud.

    3. @Ser Twice the Thrice Unfortunately these people only understand when their day is screwed, they don’t care about history.

  5. There is more to “supporting the military” than spending billions sometimes, in no bid contracts, for unnecessary weapons and equipment.
Questioning the patriotism of someone who fought and bled on the battlefield for this country is pretty darn wrong. Unless you got some massive evidence and not some one line mudball slinging.. .

  6. And finally words still reverberating in my ears from the first time I heard them. Every American patriot should consider them anew in light of the current Russian crisis, “Admittedly there is a risk in any course we follow other than this, but every lesson in history tells us that the greater risk lies in appeasement, and this is the specter our well-meaning liberal friends refuse to face–that their policy of accommodation is appeasement, and it gives no choice between peace and war, only between fight and surrender. If we continue to accommodate, continue to back and retreat, eventually we have to face the final demand–the ultimatum. And what then? When Nikita Khrushchev has told his people he knows what our answer will be? He has told them that we are retreating under the pressure of the Cold War, and someday when the time comes to deliver the ultimatum, our surrender will be voluntary because by that time we will have weakened from within spiritually, morally, and economically. He believes this because from our side he has heard voices pleading for “peace at any price” or “better Red than dead,” or as one commentator put it, he would rather “live on his knees than die on his feet.” And therein lies the road to war, because those voices don’t speak for the rest of us. You and I know and do not believe that life is so dear and peace so sweet as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery. If nothing in life is worth dying for, when did this begin–just in the face of this enemy? Or should Moses have told the children of Israel to live in slavery under the pharaohs? Should Christ have refused the cross? Should the patriots at Concord Bridge have thrown down their guns and refused to fire the shot heard ’round the world? The martyrs of history were not fools, and our honored dead who gave their lives to stop the advance of the Nazis didn’t die in vain. Where, then, is the road to peace? Well, it’s a simple answer after all.

You and I have the courage to say to our enemies, “There is a price we will not pay.” There is a point beyond which they must not advance.” – Ronald Reagan, “A Time for Choosing” 1964

  7. After Trump urinated on McCain’s grave, the rest of the party lined up to do likewise. Especially Graham. No words are too strong to describe these reptiles.

    1. @SierraGallager Shrewd That is correct. Daniel Schaeffer is a typical libtard who lives a fabricated life of lies.

    2. The democrats are the reptiles. Tomorrow, a ton of information will be coming out about how the bidens stole US aide money by the billions and obama knew about it.

    1. @vrnc M
      Not Joe Biden.

but the original point was that Trump said he had a plan that would provide healthcare for everyone and instead he’s just going to cancel Obamacare and the protections for pre-existing conditions.
