Extreme drought in Europe exposes sunken Nazi warships | Hitler’s Black Sea fleet

The punishing drought hitting Europe has pushed the Danube River to one of its lowest levels in almost a century – exposing the sunken hulks of several Nazi warships.

The vessels were part of Hitler's Black Sea fleet and were scuttled in 1944 amid a retreat from Soviet forces.

Many of the ships still contain tons of ammunition and explosives which is posing an additional danger to shipping and making it even more complicated to navigate through the river.
