Just common sense that legit news cannot be trusted on social media. If I do see news on a social media site I cross check with multiple legit news sources. Too many simple minded people that lack critical thinking skills in this country. Everything you read in this day and age should be taken with a grain of salt, especially on social media sites.

it is not about selling information. They didn’t “sell” anything but ads. Russia and a company called Cambridige Analytica abused the system and simply used Machine Learning to target people very specifically and then add fake content and ads. Just look at some of these comments, why do you think any conservative will be watching MSNBC? They aren’t the comments are bots or paid trolls.

There’s a reason why Facebook and other similar companies, have been sued in Europe. They take people’s personal information, and sell it to companies, who use it for any purpose they choose. The reason they aren’t being sued in the US is because republicans and their backers, who bought the government of the US, believes in unregulated capitalism. Democrats on the other hand believe in regulating capitalism, when they prey on the citizens of this country.

you can’t just keep waiting. Learn the basic concepts of how it works. You don’t need to code or learn math to read related books like Weapons of Math Destruction or take a free course like Fast.AI’s Machine Learning or Deep Learning. If your relatives ask how this works, show them the last 20 minutes chapter 6 of the Deep Learning course
