FBI Director Christopher Wray condemns threats | USA TODAY

FBI Director Christopher Wray responded to the threats his department received following a search of former President Trump's Mar-a-Lago home.

The FBI's search Monday of former President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida has drawn attention to the agency.

Two people familiar with the search told USA TODAY the search was tied to Trump's alleged removal of documents from the White House to his Mar-a-Lago property when his term in office finished.

Alberto Gonzales, a former attorney general in the George W. Bush administration, said he believed a law-enforcement action of such magnitude would almost certainly have involved the sign-off of Attorney General Merrick Garland and FBI Director Christopher Wray.

  1. With any number of adjectives at his disposal, him using “deplorable” was not a mistake. He knew exactly where to target his comments.

    1. @Azino Odhomi Inversely, it is such a common thing to see on the news or any stats page, those that deny via laziness are brought out for everyone to see their ignorance. I can show you the door but you must walk through it.

  2. I don’t remember a similar statement by him when Supreme Court justices were dealing with worse threats and protests in front of their homes.

    1. @Danny Timms But it DOES mean there is Probably cause there was a crime committed, hence the Federal Judge signing off on the warrant. Keep up Danny.

  3. This guy is the perfect example of someone who keeps getting promoted throughout life because no one wants to deal with his ineptitude.

    1. For everyone saying “Trump appointed him” thank you for the redundant fact even though you completely ignored what I said.

    1. @Support your Troops & Athletes You know I’m right when you contradicted and wrote an essay for me lmfao

  4. The same group of folks called parents domestic terrorists if they were concerned about school closures and learning loss. Yeah……I trust them.
    Thanks

    1. @I’m the bad guy? If you are trying to imply something with that statement I’m not certain what it is. The memo was effectively two paragraphs long and could be written within a few minutes.

  5. “Nothing can destroy a government more quickly than its failure to observe its own laws, or worse, its disregard of the charter of its own existence”. ― U.S. Supreme Court Justice Tom C. Clark

    1. @Chonzen1 though I know you wishing really hard there wasn’t but crying won’t change them facts, cupcake 👌

    2. @Matthew O’Reilly Im not wishing at all I read the statute the feds are citing there is no criminal section. Yes the presidential records act exists but it has not criminal enforcement.

    3. @Evil Knevil , No. I’d rather report you for abusive behavior and continue civil discussion with more enlightened people, thank you very much.

  6. “Violence cannot be your answer because it’s our answer. Just submit to us as slaves” that’s what he really said in case anyone was wondering

    1. ACIvideo is a clown 🤡. And has resorted to name calling and threatening to report me. For commenting just like they’re doing… So I shall do the same! Hypocritical clowns all around!

    2. @Tanner Hook After going through these comments. I want your links you claim to have, show them! Cite your sources so we can be better informed instead of just taking your word for it…

    3. @Alan Suarez AclVideo is a Jew who can’t understand the dangers of a police state…. Some guys can’t comprehend the danger. Even if it’s already happened to their families in the past.

    4. @NoalFarstridernot even trying to live up to that “ moderate” claim now huh?
I haven’t failed in any argument, nor have you succeeded. It’s just a discussion.
I just have better things to do on vacation than text-arguments with extremists who are legally illiterate.

  7. “When governments fear the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny.” – Thomas Jefferson

  8. I get so tired of these accusations. Every time something like this happens there are “threats” immediately condemned and receive publicity from the media. It’s like that is the first try to use diversion away from the real issue, trying to turn the one causing harm to become the “victim”. Both parties use it. If there are really, credible threats then prosecute the person. Be transparent, show the threat so the public can evaluate it on our own.

    1. @Tyler417 like they did when the Supreme Court Justices were being threatened & they did absolutely nothing? Yep, I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt, Nope!!

    2. @Live & learn from fools & from sages what was the threat? Protesting doesn’t trigger fbi to investigate lol how is that the same as the warrant search?

    3. @Tyler417 Really? So, when someone showed up at a justices home with a shotgun, ppl threaten them & their entire families, isn’t considered a threat to you? Only a protest? Let me know when ppl start showing up at the FBI agents homes with shotguns, will ya? So I can tell you that it’s only a protest.🙄

    1. “people who can make you believe absurdities can also make you commit atrocities”
From Jan 6 to this, this is why it’s happening.

  9. There were threats against Supreme Court Justices and unlawful protesting outside their family homes, what did Wray do about it?

    1. @Bo Bice wrong, this is America. My rights to stand in public spaces don’t depend on what I’m saying. Your rights don’t come and go because of a case a judge may be on.
Your rights are the same 24/7 as long as you are law abiding. Public space is for the people. Read, learn. Please. We ALL should know our rights.

    2. @Bo Bice we are talking about peaceful protest in front of a house. Nothing illegal.
      Stay on topic please.
Or stop hitting me up about whataboutisms.

  10. Who made a threat? The FBI can’t even find the Capitol pipe bomber that they have crystal clear video of. Who used a cell phone that they know the exact time and location it was used. Easily traceable with the assets they have a available.

    1. not necessarly true for an individual and and specially not necessarly true for a government with many individuals.

  11. It pleases me that these comments are not going the way I expected them to go. The level of distrust in the federal government speaks very loudly to the integrity of that government.
