Biden's first state dinner was last fall's fête for France. Wednesday's event is timed in part to celebrate this year's 70th anniversary of the alliance between the U.S. and South Korea.

Platinum, the traditional 70th anniversary color, was chosen for the linens featured throughout the cocktail reception.

The evening will conclude with the "distinctly American" entertainment of showtunes. Broadway stars Norm Lewis, Lea Salonga and Jessica Vosk will perform renditions of iconic songs, Biden said, "showcasing the craft and creativity of our country."

  1. People died for US in the other regions and here the US leader and the followers having shining meals to discuss the next wars

  2. We have so many homeless people and people loosing their jobs that this was NOT news worthy. While this elaborate meal was paid for with our tax dollars, many kids in the US (you know the ones our gov’t “cares” about) went hungry.
