Disney says in a new lawsuit that Gov. Ron DeSantis led a "targeted campaign of government retaliation" against the company, the latest chapter in a remarkable clash between the governor and the state's most iconic company.

"Disney regrets that it has come to this," the lawsuit reads. "But having exhausted efforts to seek a resolution, the Company is left with no choice but to file this lawsuit." Disney's lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court for north Florida accuses DeSantis of threatening the company's business and violating its constitutional rights, calling the government's actions "patently retaliatory, patently anti-business, and patently unconstitutional."

  1. Difference between a straight A lawyer and a C-D attorney. 😂😂😂 can’t wait to see this play out

  2. Leave Disney alone and do something about this crazy inflation. Put some caps on rent prices and energy costs. Disney does a better job maintaining their property than FL

  3. Orlando will you ever stop disrespecting the things the make your city relevant? First Shaq now this

  4. Ron brings up Tallahassee because the case is now in front of the chief justice of the Northern District, Mark Walker. Walker previous ruled Florida’s total ban on early voting sites on college and university campuses was unconstitutional. Not exactly the judge he wanted 🤣

  5. When the one who made it political starts pointing fingers. You messing with Mickey and his money. You can’t just go around and mess with The Mouse! Lol

  6. Imagine DeSantis on the stand being grilled for three days by Disney’s lawyers – it will make Murdoch and Fox look like a picnic.

  7. The state of Florida provided Disney with a special economic enhancement status called the Reedy Creek Improvement District. This status allows Disney to effectively function as its own county government, including running its own fire department and managing its own building codes, utilities and roads. In addition to Reedy Creek providing most of its own services, it also taxes Disney to raise funds necessary to maintain the land and community services.

Due to the special designation, Reedy Creek can and does levy more taxes on the Walt Disney Company than Florida generally allows counties to tax entities. In fact, Reedy Creek taxes Disney at a rate of about three times the general rate for other Florida jurisdictions.

Reedy Creek also has public bonds issued, to which Disney receives a bill each year to make the annual payments.

If Ron got his way, everything Disney already pays plus tge billion dollar bond debt would fall on the taxpayers.

🤣 tiny d is hemorrhaging donors and Republican support for this stunt.

  8. That’s rich. He is trying to avoid any oversight of his own behavior. By changing the laws to keep his corruption secret.

    1. that is nothing compared to Billions dollars in taxes their customers bring in to the state of flordia, even you can see that its not worth it to f with golden goose

    1. Desantis is not screw he just won with over the top support blowing out that lefty challenger. Now he’s 12 Disney 0 😆 🤣 😂 😹

  9. Without Disney Florida would just be swamp land. Disney brings in the majority of money that Florida has.

    1. If Disney wasn’t there I’m sure universal would not be either! Since Universal followed Disney to Cali then to Florida to be major competition.
