Mary Peltola won Alaska's special congressional election Wednesday and will finish the remainder term of the late Rep. Don Young until January.

Peltola will be the first Alaska native to serve in Congress. Young had held the seat for nearly 50 years. Peltola, former Gov. Sarah Palin and Nick Begich ran both in a special election to fill out the rest of Young's term and will run in the general election for a new term. Wednesday's results will be confirmed by the state elections board in the coming days.

  1. I don’t know anything about Peltola, but happy for her. win. I lived in AK when Palin delayed the Denali gas pipeline project by making it very difficult for the producers. She is all politics and no substance.

  2. You Alaskans are very smart! It doesn’t matter if you’re republicans or democrat. If he or she leaves midterm for a book deal, he or she doesn’t care about you

  3. She doesn’t get it. Since 2008 Alaskans keep telling her they don’t want her. That’s 14 years of losing. The woman is a dumbo and a creep. Looking forward to her next humiliation.
