    1. @Eric Klaus Really?

If you trusted common sense, you would realize that Texas built all their hydrologic infrastructure above the frost depth.

Yes I hope to one day learn to think for myself like a CONservative Cosplatriot who hangs on every word that comes out of a twice-impeached loser. Someday…

  1. Texas legislators are passing the buck again! It’s their own fault, and it’s the people who suffer. Voting has consequences Texas! Vote them out!

  2. If this would have been California, there would lots of comments about the failure of California being “socialist” ….form California, best wishes to all of Texas hope everything gets back to normal soon …..

  3. Texans: It’s minus 45
    Nobody: of course. Trump lost
Texan: But …can I shoot the snow to make water?
    Nobody: Nope
Texan: ok but Cali is worse
ERCOT : Hold my power outage

    1. @auber there you don’t even need to follow the money. Texas’s grid is independent of the rest of the country’s grid. And Republicans are in charge. Open-shut case.

  4. They should be charged with reckless behavior. For those old enough, Texas had another debacle that ruined many lives. The crooked E./ ENRON. 2001

    1. @blupheonix44 They cooked the books to fool the regulators so I guess Texas thought it would get rid of regulators instead of getting rid of corporations that break the rules. Enron did go bankrupt.

  5. Fun fact: ERCOT had $791 million in cash according to its 2018 financial statement. And yet didn’t use any of that to winterize its infrastructure, despite having 9 years to do it since the last winter outage in 2011.

  6. Chris covered it yesterday; republican officials ignored the report from the same incident 10 years ago, and it keeps repeating.
