Megan Carr, 13, first heard about 9/11 in the fourth-grade and discovered her grandmother responded to the attacks as an an officer with the NYPD .
Children born after 2001 do not have their own memories of the 9/11 attacks, but instead are learning about the tragedy in school. Through a fourth-grade project, Megan Carr, now 13, discovered that her own grandmother was a 9/11 first responder at ground zero.
