Harvard psychiatrist says this is the secret to happiness

Dr. Robert Waldinger, director of the Harvard Study of Adult Development and co-author of "The Good Life," discusses lessons learned from the world's longest scientific study on happiness. #CNN #news

  1. I tend to disagree with the findings of H.U., @CNN, my experiences have shown me a Healthy and Peaceful attitude while living detached and being unjudgmental brings one a health and peaceful attitude.

  2. I have been subjected to systematic torture and abuse by the Greek government for about seven years and I don’t know what to do. Does anyone hear me? I need help. Please spread this message. Thank you.

  3. September 10th 2019: “The US decided to extract a top-secret source from Russia after President Donald Trump revealed classified information to two Russian officials…” December 16th 2019: Russian spy ship, the Viktor Leonov sails along the Eastern Seaboard. Donald ‘Bone Spurs’ Trump: “So when you ask me what am I going to do with a ship, the Russian ship as an example, I’m not going to tell you.” Trump proceeded to do nothing.

  4. Typical science…..
Happiness comes from within, independent from external sources, the external sources are a temporary “solution” but do not create a solid foundation for true happiness.

  5. “It is NEVER too late.” 😊😊😊 “Our study shows us that people find friends. They find love when they’re sure it is never going to happen to them at all different points of their lives. Much depends on whether you are INTENTIONAL about making and nurturing good relationships.”

  6. “Harvard psychiatrist says this is the secret to happiness” so let’s otherwise “Convince It Forward” with Laus DEO

  7. The “key to happiness” is the key to peace of mind, and it is this: STOP worrying about what others think of you. Let it go. BE your authentic self. Everything else will fall into place.

  8. The professor actually made me feel happier. He was smiling and projected joy, hes onto something i reckon

  9. Here’s the question, is it a matter of people who build and maintain healthy relationships are happier and healthier, or is it that happier and healthier people tend to maintain healthy relationships?

  10. I hardly think that a psychiatrist has the secret to happiness. There are high rates of burnout among medical practitioners, including 42% of psychiatrists and mental health professionals. Depression is also extremely common and these professions have a suicide rate higher than that of the general population, and even higher than that of other academics.

Psychiatrists are great at dispensing medications. About revealing the path to true happiness, not so much.

  11. I’m screwed! I avoid people like the plague.
People are the cause of my unhappiness. The world is a dog-eat-dog world and full of insane people. When I don’t have to deal with others, I’m very happy.
I prefer the company of animals more than people. I don’t have any pets of my own, but my neighbors cat comes to me for regular petting. Very pleasant visits for both of us.
I think most people need emotional support from others. I’m not one of them and very happy and content with my life.

  12. Maybe we should put Fox & CNN in a room tasked with finding common ground with each other and form a good relationships – in the hopes to show the USA its never too late. No kidding it would make a great series. Call it “Bridging the Great Divide – Taking small actions”. You will be amazed at the positive emotion and connection that comes back to you.
