  1. We now need to put the term “avoid it like the plague” to rest, because obviously quite a bit of Americans wouldn’t avoid the plague.

    1. It’s actually even worse than that. 1.2 million dead out of roughly 330 million population equals 1 out of every 275 Americans gone. Nearly twice as bad as the 500 number you mention.

    2. @The Insane Shecklador i figured it was worse, the “1 in 500” article was from an old cnn article i think 2021 πŸ˜”πŸ˜”πŸ˜”

  2. Public health matters should never be political or should there be a question of truth concerning them. Hindsight is that dead people don’t complain or learn for that matter. We need to make sure this never happens again.

    1. @An Acc How about vaginal sex be banned due to the risk of disease spread? As it turns out, many STDs spread that way too….

  3. FFS, We have 5 political parties in the Federal Government up here in Canada, ALL COOPERATED with Pandemic recommendations EVEN A SEPARATIST PARTY!!!

    1. @George Harrison The US rocketed to the top of the infection and death charts and still holds that spot. You are the one that needs to do some thinking.

  4. People in the US were presented with the concept that the restrictions/precautions were taking away their freedom. Without that message, maybe people would have slowed down and adhered to the guidelines, and we might have been able to conquer the bug in a couple months. Instead, our movement propagated the bug.

    1. @aurora_occidentalis I would love to read about this, please cite your credentialed or accredited source of information so I may educate myself on this topic. Thank you so much.

    2. @aurora_occidentalis All data indicates the virus came out of the wet markets, not a laboratory. 1. The sequences of the coronaviruses being studied in the lab could not have mutated into SARS-CoV-2. 2. The original Wuhan strain had sequences picked up from tanuki (raccoon dogs), which could only occur if the virus had passaged through tanuki. There were no tanuki in the Wuhan lab. Live tanuki were kept and sold in both wet markets. 3. All the original cases clustered around Wuhan’s two wet markets, which are on the other side of the river from the lab. None of the early cases were on the lab side of the river.

  5. An important question to ask is WHY does the FDA continue to allow neurotoxins and carcinogens in products!!!

  6. Would help not to have a President in the Whitehouse telling outright lies about the virus and blaming other countries rather than dealing with the problem at hand in an efficient and logical manner.

  7. A problem because we’re during the pandemic because we can’t handle the pandemic is we had a howdy doody government that didn’t give a damn

  8. Covid19- freedom, my body my choice. RoeVWade – respect sanctity of life, and it needs to be codified in law

I like how consistently inconsistent the laws and recommendations are. πŸ™„

    1. It’s like murder. It’s very subjective based on who and why they are doing it. If you are in the military blowing up a school you get a pass because “freedom”. If you are a cop and fear for you life “freedom”. If you are someone in a soldier defending his/her country “terrorist”. Etc. Murder is never just murder is subjective and laws will be found to justify the act.

  9. I don’t want to post another comment but I just had to say that I lost my wife of 32 yrs. to COVID-19 and although we are putting it behind us, many will never know how many of us want to put our arms around our loved ones and there’s nobody there to love anymore.

    1. I lost my sister to a car accident and mother to cancer two years apart, then a friend died from suicide, so yeah, I get it.

    2. @My Perspective all loss is tragic but I was referring to a virus that didn’t exist 5 yrs ago and it took the lives of 1,159,662 in the U.S. alone.

  10. “We’ve got to reach out to those people and not make them the opposition.”
Trust me, Dr. F. You did plenty to reach out. They’re the ones who made you the opposition.

  11. “if we stop testing , the numbers will go down” – stable genius 45
Thank you Dr. Fauci for your Lifetime commitment to Humanity . Forever Grateful .

  12. My craziest thought at the beginning of COVID, was trump had a chance to be the hero he always wanted to be. Instead he acted exactly as he always has in his life with lies and callousness. With all the resources available to him as president, he chose to claim COVID was a hoax like no one would notice a million loved ones lost. He deserves everything heading his way, in this life and the nextπŸ™

  13. *Fauci 10-7-2020:* “I recommended to the president that we shut the country down” – Newsweek
*Fauci 7-26-22:* “I didn’t recommend locking anything down” – The Hill (responding to question about devastating effects of lockdowns)

  14. It was really nice to see so many governments and journalists becoming health professionals overnight with a single answer to a complex virus.

    1. What was even more ridiculous was all the truck drivers, labour workers, and other blue collar types, educating us all with their deep insights into virology.
