Historic $2-trillion stimulus deal reached amid pandemic

The White House and Senate leaders struck a major deal over a $2-trillion package to provide a jolt to an economy struggling amid the coronavirus pandemic, capping days of marathon negotiations that produced one of the most expensive and far-reaching measures in the history of Congress. Senate Majority Leader Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and Minority Leader Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) announced a deal had been reached from the floor of the Senate.

  1. ๐Ÿค”..๐Ÿ’ญ.. u mean I get to get some of my money back from a shitload of taxes paid throughout the years….nice! ๐Ÿ•บ๐Ÿ•บ

    1. Better than nothing yes. I’m just happy our government still thinking about its tax payers. I hope people on welfare don’t complain

    2. @Mark Marc Yeah… I get that the “middle class” is not used to living on that little in a month, but for the lowest income, most vulnerable workers, it could be a life saver.

    3. Yeah, be happy with your token. 500 billion for the 99%, 1.5 trillion for the 1%.
We just spent 40 years investing in the 1%. The dividends are a mass redistribution of our wealth into the top’s pockets and 23 trillion in debt. How much longer should we continue this strategy which has never ever worked ever? How much more do they need before we can start investing in us?

    1. @Little Nat *The bailed out corporations can still pay dividends to their stockholders… with your tax money.* Feds can leverage 10ร— the stated bailout amount, in the future. No oversight! _It’s _*_your_*_ money, dummy!_ Enjoy your life as a patsy for the 1%…

    2. @Little Nat Yepp Lil Donny will be right there too..He’ll prob march straight to prison because the dems(yeah, their shitty too) will not stop until he is ruined…Gonna be great!! He will be held accountable for all the fraud, bankruptcy, sexual harassment and all the bs he has pulled. Bet his wife leaves too!!! Looking forward to it!!!!!

    3. What’s sad is Trump had to refuse to take any of the money for any of his businesses at the expense of his workers because he knew people would try to say he’s trying to benefit from this. That’s how crazy Democrats are when it comes to being biased and brainwashed by CNN

  2. acting like 1000 dollars is some favor when it’s not even a small percentile of the money they take out of my checks in a month ๐Ÿ˜‚

    1. @papadukes523
when millions find out no money until MAY, expect an AMERICAN Spring across america, and dont mean the season.

    2. @Hawkzblade Perhaps but the countries citizens are easily suspect to manipulation from both parties and entertainment/ drug distractions.

Any uprising would instantly be labeled terrorists and majority would support government.

    3. @My Own Private Idahono she did not . I would never come close no matter what but I do not need the money or want it . You are correct everything is a trade . To me a few thousand dollars does nothing the higher unemployment rates long term food stamps stopping mortgage payments evictions will help people that need it for the long hall

  3. US Pop: 330 million * $1200 = 396 billion. 2 trillion – 400 billion = 1.6 trillion. Where the hell is the money going?

    1. First of all, not everyone gets the $!200, its like ppl enjoy being ignorant, that check is for hose earning under 75k, and w/e the married fucks with kids get, under a certain income, most middle and upper middle class may get unemployment, or business bailouts

    2. What if you didnโ€™t file taxes and were on welfare last year but now Iโ€™m working will those people get a check or is it only for people who had w2s

    3. What if you didnโ€™t file taxes and were on welfare last year but now Iโ€™m working will those people get a check or is it only for people who had w2s

  4. They gonna come for “entitlements” it’s been there plan all along and now they have the perfect excuse to after they take it away from us.

    1. @Storm&Cloud They all have been saying it. Now it will be used as a way to blackmail us. Higher taxes or cuts in Social security.

  5. Oh we’re going to beat the virus on Easter Day. We’ve already negotiated that with the Corona manager. We’ll be packing the churches to celebrate the goodbye to corona on Easter. Our great leader has already negotiated his biggest deal! ๐Ÿ˜‚

  6. Where did we get this money? Here’s a hint, the same place that got us here in the first place. The rich will be easy to spot now. They’ll be dancing in the street.

    1. @Talk no Jutsuu Yeah… That’s my plan. I’m going to pay down my credit card and stuff a bit in savings just in case.

    2. @edsamjr It’s too late, the people or ” sheeple ” as I call them will never wake up. They have the great addiction, nose in phone, head up @$$ syndrome. The New world Order is coming to a neighborhood near you. We the People no longer exist.

    3. @Talk no Jutsuu Best damn advise I’ve heard in a long time. Unfortunately as soon as many of these idiots get this funny money, they’ll be using it to buy the latest Apple phone so, they can keep they’re nose in they’re phone, head up they’re @$$.

  7. A whole lot of people just got rich along with many benefits to many Congressmen.
We all know by now there’s always profit in confusion.

  8. GIVE to corporations. LOAN to small buisnesses. In two weeks well need another 2 trill. Get back to work. Youre not done yet.

    1. from CNN: “The full details have yet to be released. But over the last 24 hours, the elements of the proposal have come into sharper focus, with $250 billion set aside for direct payments to individuals and families, $350 billion in small business loans, $250 billion in unemployment insurance benefits and $500 billion in loans for distressed companies.”

    2. They still do not understand small business is the back bone of the economy. Give to small business loans to corporations with serious leashes controlling what they do with the loans

  9. Well awesome, I’m self employed so I can’t get unemployment on steroids and I have bad credit so I won’t get these great loans either. Great work!

    1. Both of those sound like the direct result of your life choices though…..how is that someone elses fault?

    2. @Eric w well just like everyone else I’m out of work due to no one wanting me in their home to do my trade because of coronavirus which isn’t my fault just like it’s not anyone elses fault they can’t work that’s where we are similar. Now where we differ is that unemployment works for the employees which I’m not. And bad credit is not always a direct result of poor choices, sometimes it’s due to things that are not in your control like your health or massive layoffs during the last recession we just got out of.

  10. A couple of wealthy guys stroking themselves – “oh, and by the way, we have this rescue package.”

    1. @Joe Hanks the so called check your talking about dear is not even enough to pay rent or any other bills so the people who are disabled still have to work just like everyone else the difference is we can’t have bank accounts to hoard or claim big time tax checks yearly we are not able to get big loans and our mortgage companies don’t care just the same as everyone else’s I’m sure your unaware of how many people are forced to work under the table to support their families or are in lowest paying jobs like retail stores grocery stores ext. Fast food making bare minimum and can’t qualify for help because of strick regulations to keep the poor poor and the rich richer but truly it don’t matter what your opinion or mine is facts are facts Jesus return is coming and I don’t need nothing but my Bible I don’t want no man’s money I just survive to do good works and share the word. Lamentations 4. Isaiah and Jeremiah are good places you may be interested in God bless the world hun take care don’t be insensitive to others crisis we must be in this together

    2. Rich get richer poor get poorer and when the people were presented a perfect man and a child molesting murderer 2020 years ago they also picked the trash over the humble so all I see is the Devil doing his work as always evil people licking the grease off his fingers while the prideless selfless starve. All we can do is pray

    1. @jbnOracle id def move to mexi for some sexy mexis if it WERENT OVERRUN BY MURDERING CARTELS, there are americans living there too, a entire senior community as well, all could be killed any day, you can die anywhere, but I’m not gonna pay money to go die somewhere else with increased chances of death

    1. @Gregg
“Your funny” – that’s how illiterate buffoons write. I asked “are all Trump supporters illiterate buffoons like you?” which clearly indicts you as a Trump supporter first, and asks you whether illiterate buffoonery is a trait you all share second. I guess logic and reading comprehension, aside from grammar, are not your forte.
As for the last 3 years, what was so bad in what they’ve done? Passing a mountain of bills which are still on McConnell’s desk? Recommended a supreme court judge the senate willfully failed to decide upon? Or was it the fact your beloved orange monkey was impeached because he couldn’t get of the mafia boss mentality that’s so ingrained within him that he felt it was normal and appropriate to make the Ukrainian president “an offer he can’t refuse”? Or something else?

    2. @GeneralSamov Thanks for checking my grammar, I run 2 businesses while I’m talking to you and my attention goes to what is important, which isn’t you. You’re proud of a partisan impeachment with no crime are you? Sets a great precedent don’t you think? Ever contemplate what’s going to happen if there is ever another Dem President? You deserve ever bit of it too. Sorry to hear about your SC judge. Guess that’s what happens when you control the WH and the Senate. Mitch will continue to leave your Democratic, socialist wish lists on his desk forever so get over it. Weren’t you proud of Pelosi for leveraging the financial aid bills and people’s lives trying to slide her wish list in on the back of those bills? She’s a real peach. Couldn’t care less about people in a crisis. She 100% politics 24/7. They must have made her go sit in the corner so they could help the people for a change. As for the judges, that’s really got to sting huh? My favorite part of your comment. He’s put in 190 something so far I think. Should get at lest one more Supreme Court judge in there too if not 2. Life is great when you’re in power huh?

    3. @Gregg
Only 2 businesses? I’m running 5 simultaneously while writing my 2nd dissertation. You’re on bloody youtube, get real.
As for partisanship, it wasn’t that partisan. Remember a few republicans voted for evidence and witnesses, and Romney even voted for conviction, so spare me the fake indignation.
And Moscow Mitch is finished, stop kidding yourself. His approval rating is in the toilet and his actions are becoming increasingly more questionable.
What about Pelosi? Was she the one trying to play fast and loose with the bill, sneaking in the 400 billion bailout for corporations with no accountability? Or was that Mnuchin? Just spare me, Trumptard. Enjoy the remainder of your term, in November the trash gets thrown out of the WH an of the senate. The merry-go-around catering to big business is over.

    4. @GeneralSamov What’s with the name calling with you people. God your an angry bunch. So glad I don’t live the demented life you do. You obviously don’t know the difference between an impeachment vote in the House and an impeachment trial in the Senate. The impeachment was 100% partisan for, and bipartisan against. In fact you lost a congressman in the process. Guess he was sick and tired of you Democrats. Can’t blame him huh? Get your facts straight. You obviously don’t understand economics. Get someone to explain to you how corporations is where the jobs come from. For someone running 5 businesses from your mothers basement you should know how things work lol. I’ll bet you’ll be first in line for you financial aid check and bitching about Trump the whole time. I’m busy, go show someone else how ill informed you are for a while.

    1. @Honest E hahaha got your hand out you filthy begged! This is China’s virus. Not USA. Biden is on record saying he would not have restricted flights from China and Europe. They got him in hiding. He’s doing awful. You better get another candidate while you still have time. Biden is awful

    1. This is much better than the housing bailouts. The people got nothing while the business that got us into the debacle of 2008 got everything

    1. Ikr… Sad and frustrating meanwhile Louisiana is not at all included hmmm is it cause Mrs Cantrell isn’t white ??? Or most of New Orleans isn’t white and majority of Louisiana is of color or migrants??? J’s it’s not cool and don’t look good for the south of the USA

  11. I am wondering how will they handle Uber and Lyft drivers, who are in between employment and self-employment?

    1. From what I gather though, I have just started a new business and I have no employees and virtually no debt I won’t be able to get anything outside of my $1,200

  12. The government is like insurance companies and casinos, they always get thier money back and then some. Tax increase to follow….

    1. prob wont just be a tax increase…it will be like the financial crisis in 08….but way worse..its coming!!!!!
