Holiday travelers across the U.S. are left with few options after a winter storm cancels thousands of flights.

The U.S. saw another day of significant flight disruptions. After high numbers on Thursday, more than 4,100 U.S. flights were canceled and 4,300 more were delayed Friday shortly after noon ET, according to the flight-tracking website FlightAware.
About 40% of all flights out of Seattle-Tacoma International and Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airports had been canceled by midday Friday. Southwest Airlines' schedule has been affected the most, with nearly 900 flights taken off the schedule for the day.
The storm system was on track to continue pushing east Friday, and airlines have issued waivers in much of the Midwest, Northeast and even parts of the South for some carriers.

Yeah, it is, having to first go through an unexpected pandemic for almost three years and later deal with out of control inflation, then trying to enjoy life and holidays again only for Mother Nature to strike.
This is why I’ve never in all my 62 years traveled by plane during holidays. Just not smart.
Yeah, it is best to avoid flying whenever possible.
Don’t put your enjoyment and plans on the ‘trust’ of the airport.

Well don’t travel during a storm. It is like when you know a storm is likely a week or more in advance and some people wait til it hits and then are like oh I didn’t prepare at all and need to go to the store now, why are some of them closed or closing early? Oh my god this is ridiculous! Dumb people are funny and will do the exact same thing next year.
They’ll have more luck playing pick up sticks with their butt cheeks that getting a flight now

People act like their lives won’t just go on if they skip it. I never understood why adults want to participate in such a silly game that was obviously designed for children .
