I’m more Democrat because while I do like my right have guns, I do believe in tougher background checks. I believe the wealthy should pay a higher tax while Republicans want to generally give wealthy people tax breaks. I also believe in dealing with climate control, Republicans ignore the danger. The list goes on.
And also on president Trump. I may not like him on a lot of his policies, but I give him credit where it is due. And no matter what side you are on, you should always wish for your president to better the country.

@Cdalex1996 E. OK, that’s very honest, and I thank you for your answer. And I can see, where we differ, because we have different priorities.
First, I should say, I am not American, I do not live in America, I have my interest for American politics for other reasons, so now you know, you can react to it the way you want.
My priorities are as the number one, freedom of speech, without which we will not be able to talk about any issue honestly, and therefore, without it, we will not be able to find viable solutions either.
In my view, without that right to speak freely, you have no other freedoms, which is why (almost) everything else I believe revolve around protecting that right. Including a belief in second amendment.
I do not believe, for example, that having green environment matters at all, if you live in a dictatorship. Because how can you enjoy clean air, if you are a slave.
So I am very focused on this issue, and I do not think democrats are focused enough on it, if at all. And while Trump has his flaws, he does use freedom of speech and he clearly does not believe in political correctness. This “PC” and identity politics, I believe to be the most toxic invention ever, and a recipe for dictatorship. That is why I am in the Republican spectrum and not democrat.
I am ex bernie supporter, btw.
And I live in Europe, where many of the same problems you have also exist.
