How this Covid-19 variant differs from the others

Researchers warn South Africa's new coronavirus variant is highly contagious and spreads fast. Without widespread access to vaccines, the situation in the country could only get worse. CNN's David McKenzie reports.

    1. @T McAuliffe Had to laugh at the “No hit Sherlock…” comment; it’s exactly what I thought. Australia is doing well too. That’s what happens when safety is not a political issue.

    2. @T McAuliffe this is the prime example of Trump Derangement Syndrome. OrAnGe Man Bad Bc CNN sAid sO rEeEeEe

    3. @Kaden Vestermark TDS is actually what all of his delusional worshipers have. OrAnGe Man GoOd Bc FOX sAid sO rEeEeEe

    1. Yep. We are barreling towards catastrophic things, things this world has never seen! This is the end, and so few know it. God help us 🥺🙏

    1. @Mike Ditka Yeah, that’s the issue with a rushed vaccine. I said on some other video that we won’t know the dangers until many people have been given the shot.
By the time vaccines get to me, they’ll have widely tested it on “the most vulnerable”

    2. @No Name Go to NorthAmerica, hit reset feature on the map and it takes you back to the unfolding of the virus introductions….to January, 2020. Notice the three distinct colors as it spreads in the earliest days. It is significant because the claim the covid is the “China virus” is blatantly false. There were three original epicenters. The question is how or why? It would be highly improbable that the virus, originated at or about the same time, in different regions / continents from bats to humans.

    3. Have to change the game rules, quadruple the spread rates in Europe and US and have Western Pacific countries containing it.

    4. Disappointed there is no mention of Madagascar in the comments, just seems to be a bunch of people who never played the game.

  1. “How this (South African) Covid-19 variant differs from the others” motivates us, the people of America, to redouble our efforts to rapidly find out at any given moment, including even while On-Line, who among us are unwittingly contagious (i.e. pre-symptomatic or asymptomatic) in order to #ConvinceItForward for them to call their doctor and to self-quarantine per CDC guidelines in hopes of stopping this pandemic instead of having more #MourningInAmerica (per #LincolnProject) even for the worse-case scenario of the #UKvariant strain(s) mutations and others like the South African & #Cluster5Mink mutations rendering current vaccines no longer effective.

    1. @CRIMNALSNEAK Oh, right. So it’s just *ME* who would never see the evidence.. but you’ve seen it… cool. Except there is none. Molecular biologists the world over have said there is none. I seem to remember 2 US supposed biologists claim there was evidence, and they got eviscerated by the global scientific community for spouting absolute bollocks. So no. You’ve not seen evidence. If you saw anything, you saw BS, that I would have thought got removed because it’s BS. You may have noticed that most countries aren’t particularly all that pally with China, including your frenemy CNN. If there was evidence, it would be plastered everywhere.

    2. @CRIMNALSNEAK It’s from evolution. You give China way too much credit. If they did that, the US would have already dropped the smallpox virus on Bejing in retaliation.

  2. if you are healthy and you follow the guidelines, (masks, etc.) you’ll be fine. Most of it is because everyone wants to travel due to the holidays.

    1. Yep. Traveling during a literal worldwide pandemic is the worst thing to do, but they keep right on doing it. They also don’t want to wash their hands or wear masks. It’s shocking how many people don’t wash their hands after going to the bathroom. Especially in a public restroom. That’s the place you would think people wash their hands the most thoroughly. Or even what passes as “washing hands” for those who do. I just see people splashing water on their hands.

If you’re just splashing water on them, then you’re just getting them wet. Use. Soap.

  3. I just love how far behind CNN is NTD news had it on 5 months ago about new strains of covid-19 in China

    1. Each variants differ in nature. The variants in China. then in the US and now in South Africa are all different in kind

    1. @Dante Escalante It will undergo mutations and you can lockdown people for only so long, then cases will surge again once it opens back up.

    2. @Theia They should just let everyone do their thing, then purge it with fire if it gets really bad we can just take off and nuke the entire site from orbit, only way to be sure.

    3. Actually it has been around forever, there are a LOT of corona viruses including the common cold, they are nothing new they have just done what they do, namely mutate and jump species once in a while and that’s what is happening now.. The truth is that humans have deluded themselves that they are in control, they aren’t ultimately. We have just used our brains to stem the tide and got lucky for 50 years, become complacent thinking we can always beat these things at their own game and now nature has given us a wake up call

  4. Well at least the scientists who’ve been working on the other vaccines are at the ready to tackle these new strains. Surely they’ve got some new skills at this point to nail it.
