FIRST, trump had to issue a directive to someone in the administration to suspend – put a freeze on the distribution of the Congressionally appropriated military assistance funds intended for Ukraine . Bipartisan vote, BTW . This was MISAPPROPRIATION and Abuse of Power of his office and a violation of his Oath . Impeachable on its own, without any other elements or events needed . The question then is: Why ? The reason can only be that it was concocted IN ORDER to be able to put pressure on and exert undue leverage on Ukraine FOR THE PURPOSE of domestic political interference against an opponent ( Biden ), utilizing Ukraine as a seeming ‘disinterested’ third party; to shield trump and his goon squad . That’s clear intent and motive for this extortion and bribery ‘high crime’ .
The consequence of this ‘theory’ is it gets Putin off the hook, gets the sanctions lifted and restores Putin’s cash flow. What’s that worth to Russia? Additionally, Trump’s distancing from NATO and forcing Ukraine to negotiate with Putin strengthens Russia. What’s that worth? Trump is jockeying for a HUGE payday … Putin is his coach.
