  1. Obviously it would work; it won’t be perfect, but nothing is. The point is it’s something different than what we’ve been doing which has been nothing.. or at least whatever “it” is hasn’t shown any positive results..

ThatsSOJohn These red flag laws would strip people of their rights without due process. They are blatantly unconstitutional. Additionally, since the FBI now deems “conspiracy theorists” as domestic terror threats (even though the FBI has pushed the debunked Russia Conspiracy for 3+ years), anyone that a judge believes is a conspiracy theorist can be targeted by these terrible red flag laws.

Yeah you know, like when you get hit by a car you should move the person because not doing something is worse because nothings perfect, lol

it’s a step forward. a step towards a slippery slope that has needed sliding down for WAY too long. will it solve the whole problem? no matter, ‘any port in a storm’.

  3. Who is the number 1 manufacturer & exporter worldwide of guns & arms? America! This is a world wide problem & not just an American one.

Ban ammo or highly restrict it and increase regulations over materials to create gunpowder.
This way people can keep their guns, they’ll just have to say “pew pew pew” to span out the ammo.

    stop sensationalizing violence

  6. How does one know what works or what doesn’t work if they don’t put it to test. Why not ban military type assault weapons for a agreed upon period of time? Less mass murders, make it permanent or visa versa.

    • Jay Zenitram | August 8, 2019 at 8:28 PM | Reply

“Assault weapons” were banned between 1994 – 2004 there was no appreciable difference in gun violence.

So Doctor, how many people would die as a result of red flag laws? There have already been at least 2 cases were the police shot the gun owner during attempted confiscations.

Due process built into the front end?

That’ll be the day. “Due process” after the fact is what you’re really talking about.

Let’s talk about pre-crime, Mr. Psychiatrist, and how you are going to keep paranoia at bay in a population with no faith to begin with. Are you sure you won’t create the demons you are trying to fight? You clowns better quit with the statistics and show some talent, the horse is already out of the barn.

What drives it more is getting societal fear from mass media due to 24 hour news and immediate response. Mass shooters tend to study other mass shooters.

Congrats one shooter while violating millions of rights. Red flag laws first and foremost break the most sacred part of the justice system, the presumption of innocence. Implement these laws, you have their by destroyed one of the foundations our country was built on. America is no longer America at that point, which is what you along. This is a fight for the soul of America, something that our enemies have tried to do for over a century.

  14. Before the commies added a hammer and sickle it was merely a Red Flag.

Must all of us give up our freedom to catch a few of them?

I rather have dangerous freedom than peaceful slavery..

  19. The government red flag laws allows the government to seize property without justification or evidence

  20. Another Patriot Act in the making aimed directly at American Citizens. So, when you divorce or have a neighbor that does not like what you say or someone on the internet wants to silence you your guns can be confiscated. If you think it will end there you are naive. Following that will lead to a Mass Incarceration of Americans in Prisons and Mental Institutions. Remember all those nuts that used to talk about FEMA Camps. They are coming. Trump is playing right into the Democrat’s hands.
