It is equalled to a catagory 2 hurricane which is considered a *minor* hurricane. It is no big deal and I lived through more hurricanes and every level for 35 years. I am not concerned about the general welfare of the people but what I am concerned with is that homes in India are poorly constructed and yes I have a good friend born and raised there in your area. You will have tiles blowing off and roof leaks with downed trees. The deadly part of any catagory 2 hurricane is downed live powerlines that occur during a storm equalled to a catagory 2 or stronger. With that said, more people lose their lives by being around puddles after a storm of this strength after the storm passes more so than the storm itself. So keep away from the puddles after. The news hypes up anyone that barely experienced these storms or never have and ai am sorry but people in India really go overboard on it as well. It is not a major major deal at all. There is another big concern more serious and that is the most from the waves could carry the covid19 virus for longer distances hitting people’s faces and you all are dealing with covid19 pretty bad so please keep the rain and must from hitting your faces. One thing I always found interesting in watching during catagory 2 hurricanes that never happens in tropical storms or catagory 1 hurricanes is watching the horizontal rain bands. Those are actually very interesting to watch. But don’t phase this storm itself and just stay put. Be grateful you are not experiencing a storm equalled to a catagory 3 to 5 and India has never experienced one of those according to the media. Those are considered *major Hurricanes but anything from a catagory 2 or lower is equalled and considered *minor* .
