    1. @finalfantasy tamilnadu I am that swing voter! I didn’t for 25 yrs until 2018. Traitor Trump can stick it where the sun don’t shine!

  1. I have kids, who graduated college and the only jobs they can find are part time, minimum wage jobs. Employers don’t want to hire full time employees because they would have to provide benefits. America is eating itself alive and watching a reality tv show host feeding them.

    1. The economy proves to be strong month after month. Republicans rightly give Trump credit and are happy about it. In contrast, 25% of the comments from Democrats are, “Thank you Obama.”
25% are, “But I’m still waiting for the next recession.”
25% are, “These numbers have to be fake because I hate Trump and I want him to fail.”
25% are, “But my son who majored in Gender Studies can’t find a job.”

    2. @Not a Robot Trump has been president a little over two years think about that when you’re blaming Trump

    3. @dirty69impala yeah so let’s open up our borders and allowed millions of illegals to come in that will make things better especially the job market

    4. @Bill Pardew Trump owns the TRILLION 💲💲💲💲 debt THIS year. The tax cuts for the super-rich are exactly what is making the debt skyrocket — according to the administration’s own calculations. https://thehill.com/policy/finance/453177-wh-projects-1-trillion-deficit-for-2019
Trump is anti-science. Instead of following the advice of the experts — he ignores it, distorts it — or just plain lies. https://www.ucsusa.org/center-science-and-democracy/promoting-scientific-integrity/sidelining-science-from-day-one

  2. So these figures are from the US Labour Dept – whose head was appointed by Trump?
Is there a way to check these numbers?

    1. @Ed Dursky Think its bad now, ask yourself this as we approach the end of summer: Who’s gonna bring in the harvests? Trump and his DHS head made a deal with the 2 largest private for-profit prison corporations… for 85,000 “units” a day incarcerated. (That means DonTheCon is excited to pay these 2 companies 65.8 millions dollars PER DAY to lock up brown people… (sometimes legal citizens)

Not deport them, not process them….. just jail them, until they hit their occupancy goal.

And that 65mil is JUST incarceration, they still demand that Congress appropriate funds to pay for basic life essentials, like food, water, beds, soap, diapers…… Because apparently these 2 companies dont know how to buy all that for less than $775 per person per day….

We have depended on migrant pickers across the nation for decades, and this year…. they just may not be there…

Foods gonna rot on the vine, prices will spike on produce, and Trump will still be bragging about his unemployment rates….

    1. There should be an additional valuation that measures household debt and income growth. GDP is a stock market metric that illustrates the big picture but not the microeconomics that really determines how people live their daily lives.

  3. China knows, their best option is to sit trump out. This hurts the US as much as China, but China still sits on mountains of money, has a leverage in US treasury bonds and also knows trump can lose next year and then this tariff war is over. So, what can they do? Take the pain, deflect part of it to the US and speculate on an economic downturn in 2020 just in time for the general election – and it will be all on trump.

trump hatches his bet on China backing down. Not very likely when you consider the above.

    1. @Big Poppa Trump You do understand how tariffs work right?

If a chinese TV costs 100, and Trump adds his tariffs to make it 130…. China dont pay that extra $30, the consumer does. We do. The actual civilian purchaser putting it in the cart pays the tariff….

How is that supposed to hurt China?

Dont trust the financial advice from a guy with more bankrupt businesses than successful ones. Dont trust the financial advice from the guy who refuses to release his tax returns, sued to prevent his offshore bank from releasing any of his finances, and committed campaign finance fraud to cover up his infidelity with his 3rd wife….

    2. china and japan have had a culture that looks hundreds of years into the future. they are aware that time is passing and they take the extreme long view of history. so in the end they are just waiting this out. yes, totally agree.

    3. LOL If you buy anything from China!! And China has No fresh water do to pollution but they just planned that out in the future!! The future looks grim!!

  4. YAH THANK U TO OUR GREAT WINNING PRESIDENT TRUMP.WHO WILL BE REELECTED IN 2020 AND HIS SON IN 2024_2032.WINNING BABY AND NOW CAN U DIG THAT SUCKAAAAAA.

  5. headline unemployment is a lie
there a tons of people who leave the workforce and never work again.

  6. When you figure in Nissan’s layoffs, Lowes layoffs, GM’s layoffs, Harley Davidson, Carrier, etc etc you will paint a clearer picture…. and don’t forget the insanely out of control deficit all you conservative types in Congress who voted to increase it.

  7. …unemplyment % just don’t seem to match REALITY….for decades, and it’s getting worse. A good % of people I know before retiring were not working the required 20+ hours a week….for the previous half year….so they were never counted as “unemployed”.

  8. The economy is : 1) not very good for the average person 2) going to crash soon due to more unregulated Casino Capitalism/Welfare for the rich that 45*/current GOP exploded (even more than under Bushy Jr.) with his/their 2 trillion tax cut for the rich, which reports have shown is a complete bust for the economy…even the Congressional Research Office concluded this: job growth is down, business investments are negative (they are hoarding all their new riches), wages are still stagnant, etc.

Couple of Robert Reich vids explain some of this:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BYWEIufMjUM

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gECPImasa7A

    And a good read: https://www.counterpunch.org/2019/07/19/the-numbers-are-in-and-trumps-tax-cuts-are-a-bust/

Much more can be read by searching for “2017 tax cuts are a bust”. We have decades of data and history that show that trickle down/reagan/GOP/supply side economics don’t work.

    1. Much like Trump, the economy is largely a facade based on falsehoods and hype. A closer look at the fundamentals reveals the true story. Supply side economics has never worked but they are trying to use this blip to justify decades worth of negative data.

  9. Donald J. Trump stands alone as the Greatest US President ever. He makes previous Presidents look failed and like they haven’t done anything. Here are a few of his great accomplihments in just 2 1/2 years:

  10. Trump is doing a great job on the economy and in stopping illegal aliens. Unfortunately, good job figures make Democrats angry. They’ve made it clear time and time again that they want the economy to fail.
