Then they ran into the shields with their faces and fell. Then they ran into the rubber bullets, into the gas and pepper spray. (This is what a report might look like that would be broadcast by TRUMP AND RUSSIA FOX NEWS).

Europeans take the time to learn what the rules are here? And stop making comparison with what happens or should happen in the US with the EU. You won’t read the US Constitution, which Democrats seem to care the most about right now. You won’t bother actually learning anything about how and why this is happening. Start with understanding why a US civil war happened here in the first place and how it’s connected to what is going on now. But, you won’t do that.
There have only been 3 impeachment trials,btw. They all ended in acquittals.

This “evidence admissible / inadmissible” is, to my knowledge, only available in the USA. And it really only means that often due to suppressed evidence, a different, often unfair verdict is given. For this I don’t have to study American law, my common sense tells me.
Besides, not all four (!) trials have been thrown out. R. Nixon resigned before a verdict in 1974.
In 1999 Bill Clinton was accused of lying about his affair with the intern Monica Lewinsky. (This would never have been a reason in a country where sexuality is spoken about freely and openly. But anyway, other countries, other customs)
In 1868 the US Senate voted on the indictment of US President Andrew Johnson. Here I have to admit that my general education leaves me somewhat in the lurch. But wasn’t it rather a suspicion that the Southerner Johnson, who after the assassination of Lincoln went from vice president to president and the Northerners here for political reasons so shortly after the civil war preferred not to see a Southerner in power?
Anyway, anyhow, so with Trump there was already the fourth trial and not the third. So much for the fact that no one who is not from the USA is interested in American history and its legal system… this is, besides European history, an area that is still being taught and is taught in schools to everyone with at least an intermediate level of education.
Authors across the world are busy writing the history of these events. Trump and his illicit cabal won’t like how they’re portrayed.
Nor will tRump supporters progeny – at least the educated ones who won’t be stuck in the past.
