The couple’s office said the pair and Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, were followed for more than two hours by half a dozen vehicles after leaving a charity event in New York on Tuesday.

It said in a statement to USA TODAY Wednesday that the chase "resulted in multiple near collisions involving other drivers on the road, pedestrians and two NYPD officers." It called the incident "near catastrophic."

"While being a public figure comes with a level of interest from the public, it should never come at the cost of anyone’s safety," their office said. "Dissemination of these images, given the ways in which they were obtained, encourages a highly intrusive practice that is dangerous to all in involved.”

    1. Are you making a joke? I hope you don’t end up in a near fatal wreck with your mother? But if you do I hope someone makes a comment like “Suzanna Parks”

  1. They’re security detail are incompitent t if they allowed this to happen. The “paparazzi” chased them for over an hour ? Looks more like a s ript dreamt up to xupport the issues going through the UK courts far to convienent. The security didn’t go to the nearest police station ? Call 911 ? Go to a back up secure location… just hot chased around the streets by a bunch h of vehicles with blacked our windows ? Not very useful for cameras and flashes…. just amazed Harry couldn’t find a nearby tunnel to over emphasise this blatant PR stunt

  2. This is his idea of a brief. He didn’t “say” anything about what really happened. However, it was interesting when he said, it’s a bit reckless and irresponsible” A “bit”? Doesn’t sound like he’s referring to a 2 hour high-speed chase with near catastrophic results.

  3. You cut off the part where the mayor says “ He highly highly doubt this incident occurred”
