@AliensAnonymous You’re kidding?! LOL… Well we definitely need all the drivers we can get. I’ve never understood the whole TP craze but other things yes. I’m in rural SC (well not that far from Myrtle Beach) and it hasn’t been that bad with the horders. Then again we are use to having an emergency stock of things for hurricanes. Now in Myrtle Beach it’s worse because a lot of people came from up north to ride it out. I’m fine with that if they abide by the Governor’s instructions that they quarantine themselves for 14 days… but you know how well tourists listen.. and our Govenor hasn’t been all that proactive. He should have put that in force weeks ago. We are at over 500 cases but our health department predicts 8000 by the end of April. My son in law is a prison guard/counselor for young adults and is in the hospital now. Likely exposed at work due to being essential personnel. He was tested 5 days ago and they STILL don’t have results due to lack if testing reagents. On the positive side he was moved out of ICU last night
… hopefully because he’s doing better and not because of bed shortages.
@vishibhojwani Yes the local Wuhan government officials were wrong to at first hide/deny what was going on… and I thing Trump’s buddy Xi will hopefully lose power over it. He’s a terrible leader. The difference between them and us though is that they (the rest of the govt) admitted it was a mistake and then got on with enacting a tremendous response that almost has them back on their feet. Knowing this we should have done even more. But no… Trump emulated Xi and denied the danger for weeks out of fear for his own political appearance. Even then if he had admitted to being wrong and doing all he could I would have some respect for him. But no… he’s doubled down on lies and misinformation… even doubting the opinions of his own experts. He still stands by the lie that we have enough tests. I have a family member in the hospital with all the symptoms fighting to breathe and after 5 days we still don’t have the results of his test. They swabbed him… but there is a shortage of reagents to run the tests. He had gone to the ER THREE times progressively worse before they admitted him due to low oxygen levels and breathing treatments weren’t working. A positive test in the first 48 hours would have meant getting treated for the right thing faster. I don’t blame China for that. I blame a president that refused the offer of test kits. I blame a president that told people it was a Democrat hoax and they didn’t need to worry because the few cases would soon be zero. He accepts NO RESPONSIBILITY at all. Gives himself a 10. SMH… I can’t vote for a new Chinese leader but I can sure vote for a different US President… IF he doesn’t use this to suspend elections.

(people stepping up in the absence of leadership, assuming responsibility to accomplish what is needed, medical persons coming out of retirement, companies forgoing production of their products to make masks and gowns, people doing whatever is within their power and expertise to do to assist, help, maintain some sense of normalcy, even putting on free concerts to entertain and lift the spirit and hope of the overworked, confined and ill),
there will be little or nothing later from which to rebound.
Yes, much more could have been accomplished with earlier precautions and interventions, but better later than not at all.
The reason, purpose and importance of quick response with any act of resiliency?
It restores and maintains hope and is a life saving intervention in many ways.
If you are not part of the solution-you are part of the problem.
