  1. I hope the no tolerance approach is not only for teachers but students also!
There’s too much indiscipline in the Jamaican society. Too much adaptation from America! The minister needs to put guidelines in place for indisciplined students rather than teachers!
Is she aware of what teachers are facing in the classrooms? Not saying the teacher’s behavior was acceptable but there’s one thing that leads to another!
Teachers are sometimes overwhelmed with these indisciplined students!
I’ve been one from 1967 both in Jamaica and US! It’s not easy & with children allowed to have phones to video tape makes it worst. Some stability needs to be put in place & governed by those in authority. Fayval is giving the handle to indisciplined students! She needs to get it right before she speaks!!

  2. Some of these children need home training… they are disrespectful and believe they are sizes with teachers

  3. WITH ALL THESE EVIL
    GOING ON SCHOOL
    MY HEART GOES OUT
    FOR THE TEACHER HE
    WAS DEFINITELY PROVOKE
    NO TEACHER WOULD ACT
    THAT MAN

    1. I would love to see what would happen if the teacher did hold him with all that anger…when I was going all age school while we were at one side of the shop ordering lunch one of our male teacher used to be at the bar section ordering his black puss and fast car(rum and cigarette) and that man use to abused us for the simplest things after we get back to class after lunch,, me personally have to run out the class the man fling the abbacus after me it end up hit me on my calf huge swelling after ..mi haffi guh home ..the amount of boys get drape up and beaten out of meter stick by that man under his influence..

  4. I HOPE THE TEACHER GETS A FINAL WRITTEN WARNING AND GOOD PROFESSIONAL ADVICE TO CARRY ON IN HIS TEACHING ROLE !!!! MANY OF THESE TEENAGE BOYS ARE EXTREMELY CHALLENGING TO DEAL WITH, SOME OF THEM ARE ALREADY GANGSTAS IN THEIR COMMUNITIES

  5. IN SOME AMERICAN SCHOOLS THEY HAVE A POLICE STATION ON THE SCHOOL CAMPUS !!!! JAMAICA REQUIRES THE SAME FOR THE WAY HOW SCHOOLERS ARE THREATENING THE LIVES OF TEACHERS THESE DAYS

  6. “She cannot accept”?! Fayval wen last you taught a class? Kmt. Blaming everyone except the student and parents. Smh

  7. It is an unfortunate incident that the teacher was involved in. Everyone is condemning the teacher. What happened in the classroom before the videoing start? What was the conversation about between the teacher and student? How do we know that the teacher’s life wasn’t threatened by the student? Why is a mobile phone in class during teaching and learning? Minister of Education needs a report about the incident, why isn’t there laws to protect teachers against bad behaviour from students? How many Dean of Discipline are in the schools to deal with incidents day in day out? Where is the helpline for teachers in the Jamaica classroom?
Before we condemned teachers who behaved inappropriately, remember they are also human beings and not robots.

    1. Agree with you 100%. Thr part where the teacher got mad was mad. What happened before that. These boys are evil and hard to control in the classroom. Some of them are gangsters

  8. Mike Henry is the member of parliament for the constituency where may pen is located, on he’s there for over 40 years, so the people there didn’t realize that there wasn’t any growth and development.

    1. Excellent comment..👍 I left Jamaica 1982 prior to finishing high school. Mike Henry was the MP for Clarendon it is incredible to know he’s still the MP. He has done zero for the Parish, Clarendon and the capital May Pen looks worse now than the day I left.

  9. I hope there will be help for the teacher who was overwhelmed with the bad breed disrespectful student. The teacher shouldn’t loose his career over a student like this. I know what teachers goes through with these I’ll mannered disrespectful students and some of their ghetto like parents who set no example for their children, I have family and friends who left the profession because of such behaviour.

  10. Fayval need to go work in one of those classroom for a month before she is condemning the teacher publicly and not doing the same to the student.

  11. This clueless minister. Society is already unbearable to live in because you the politicians have made it so! Hypocrisy at the highest levels.

  12. Suddenly, every place with finance is embroiled in a scandal. Banks, investment spots, schools. Next up is some partner in Denham Town…

  13. Ms. Williams fi gweh. If she was in front of that classroom she would understand-but she isn’t. She probably went to a brand name high school uptown where she is in a bubble.
    Teachah stress.
