Mount Everest base camp to be moved as climate change accelerates glacial melt

Mount Everest's most famous base camp is being moved further down the mountain, as ice that took 2,000 years to form slowly melts away.

The south base camp on Mount Everest is just the starting place for climbers, but it's located on top of a thinning glacier that's becoming increasingly dangerous amid climate change.

  1. mountaineering tourists who have no business up there but run up there by the thousands, leave garbage and kick the snow to mud or even better; accidents there (over 200 dead who have not yet been recovered) are now worried about the mountain… all right hypocrites…

  2. Is this like the signs they had at American national parks saying this glacier will be gone by 2020, then they had to take down the sign because the glacier is still there and just as large?
