Nanos poll: Conservatives open “statistically significant” lead over Trudeau’s Liberals | TREND LINE

CTVNews.ca's Michael Stittle and Nanos Research's Nik Nanos discuss the latest federal polling showing the Conservative Party has a 'statistically significant' lead over Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's Liberal Party – but in Nik's experience, it could be for reasons you might not have thought about.

The 'Rolling Thunder' convoy protest is expected to arrive in downtown Ottawa this weekend, this time on motorcycles. How do Canadians feel about the seemingly growing trend of protests?

Also, Nik breaks down some exclusive numbers from New Brunswick, after the People's Alliance closed up shop with the leader throwing his support behind the premier.

Finally, what does Elon Musk's takeover of Twitter mean for political speech in Canada?

  1. We should have had this leadership contest before the last general election. O toole could not have been worse

    1. @Justin Harasyn PP couldn’t win against either of those puds but now they think he’s going to be successful?

    2. @Paul speaks volumes of your character doesn’t it? When a so called male votes Trudeau one wonders.

  2. Lets be real here. Canada is progressing toward the American 2 party system.
This will only lead to further societal polarization.

    1. @Thrill House I’m a conservative and not right wing I’m center right. I’ll never support Justincompetent, or Jagmeet

    2. @Derek actually, it’s you that has no clue…you think NDP voters would vote conservative? ya right…

    3. @Thrill House you base that on what? Half the country doesn’t even vote. Maybe it’s because there isn’t a right wing party to vote for.

    4. @Cody Perry I based what I said on an assessment of the general electorate. Do you think government policies and our social system represent that of a conservative country? 🤔

    1. Not to mention the almost guaranteed disappointed conservatives not voting conservative after the leader gets picked and they don’t like it.

  3. Maybe we are just fed up with the Liberals. We are not happy at the Liberal/NDP collaboration. It provides certainty for the Liberals and same old, same old. No solutions! And since the truckers we are watching Parliament and the no answers, it is very unattractive.

    1. The Liberal-NDP coalition currently has support of half the electorate, while Conservative has only a third. So let’s no kid ourselves that there is some sort of backlash.

    1. Disagree. I am a Canadian living in Japan and have been through the entire pandemic here. It’s the upside down world here in many many ways and Japanese seem to love it. The average Canadian would go mad here

  4. how can you have free speach if the goverment is tranical and vengfull towards the ones that have elected them .

  5. Nanos said he has not seen numbers like these for the Conservatives since Erin O’Toole was leader of the party.” – lol how did that turn out

  6. Being from New Brunswick, I truly appreciate you both taking the time and talking about the provincial politics here! Great work!
