If he wanted to actually fight someone, or go to war to āprotect American idealsā , or for whatever glorious excuse could be manufactured as an excuse for war, then at least, even if for all of the wrong reasons, it would be a somewhat honorable motivation. But no, he just wants to look strong while he redefines what it means to be weak. While we have in the past committed our military to bolster Saudi Arabiaās military, of course trained by us, there have been far too many transgressions made by them to simply declare our unwavering allegiance. Those things canāt be ignored(Koshogghiās murder, human rights violations, etc) and the motivation for the attack may just be the most important facet of this extremely complicated situation. And of note: if Yemeni Houdis are actually responsible, then Saudi Arabia could easily retaliate, rightly or wrongly, and obliterate Yemeni targets with ease. In other words, it would be the dumbest strategic move ever if Houdi rebels did this deed. But I think not. I also doubt that they even have the resources. This reeks of Iran, and leaving it open for blame long enough to keep speculation high and confusion rampant would be a classic maneuver for them.
