  1. I don’t understand why Russia complains when Ukraine attacks its country when that’s literally what they’re doing to Ukraine.

    1. @ExiledGypsy syrian oil fields anything about that? And if they didn’t annex where were their base for 20 years in afganistan?? And sorry for my bad English.

    2. @jorge gonzalez-larramendi lol i am not even Russian i don’t give a crap about them winning or losing. I like how west shed their crocodile tears when what they did in other parts of world happening to them and wants the world to help them.

    1. May be a new book coming out on sell.. great one the lexus and olive tree..about globalization. He mention about philippines..

  2. We really need to get our electric grid fixed so we can get electric cars. It’s not just about green.

  3. China doesn’t “control” rare earth. It simply mines the most. They are everywhere but it’s expensive to mine them without damaging the environment, so most mines not in China closed down long ago. They can start again any time the will is there.

  4. It’s clear that the world is at an incredible turning point where major powers repositioning on world stage is a dynamic that could be detrimental for some of them in some ways, the race is open and the winner will be the one who has enough strength to get to finish line;everything has to be calculated now on the long haul should any world power be heard and respected, this is just the beginning of a new era 🥇

    1. @RobBCactive I’m afraid to imagine that they teach you this in schools!! Tell me honestly is this phone propaganda?? Or did you come up with it yourself??

  5. Honestly if we wouldn’t have an energy crisis right now, we would probably still not be on “green” energy by the year 2232.
seems like people are only willing to change when their comfort or life depends on it.

    1. Well when fossil fuels and nuclear are subsidized while renewable aren’t, ofcourse people are not going switch over. Too much money to be made with “traditional” power.

  6. That guy was right on everything he said I take climate change seriously but we have to phase from it with our own oil. That’s a serious national security issue to

  7. As to China’s monopoly on rare earth minerals, it wasn’t always so, and in particular, the Mountain Pass operation that we see when driving LA-Las Vegas was the global leader, and can be again, America needs to support its essential assets even at a loss.

    1. Yup, it was closed because of being dirty.
Fun fact? Rare earth minerals are not rare at all. You just need to process a lot of ore.

    2. China doesn’t have a ‘monopoly’ on rare earths. Are you not aware of the unreported wars on the continent of Africa for essential rare earths?

  8. I vote for arming Ukraine with long range, jets and turbo-prop aircraft so that they win back their territory. It is a zero sum game for everyone. Putin keeps threatening everyone with nuclear war when he is losing a regular war waged on a neighbouring country. It is an example that must be met with Ukraine victory!

  9. I don’t think he is that green, I could be wrong though. However, we need to find a balance of supporting our needs in the USA and yet making our neighbors happy that we go to them, “without really needing them”. USA needs to go back to production with the best non-polluting to the environment, or at least ready immediately if we need. We do get many things from places who pollute this world more than what we would. We need different thinking and different ways in how we do things and getting the big wigs together might be a good idea. The sad part is most are more interested in profits over what is better for this world that we need, which has been proven.

  10. That sounds very reasonable. Also very unbiased. I’d like to hear from Mr Friedman more often. Thank you.

  11. It is very hard to have an open and honest conversation with someone whose whole life philosophy is to lie, cheat and steal to take advantage of those who are stupid enough to be open and honest…

  12. I like how Fareed brings topics in an ordered manner and calmly for people to undertand. So tired of excentricism in media. Regardless whatever side or topic mainstream media cannot become a clown to entertain the public.

  13. Surprised how Friedman can say “maximize all three” when they are clearly opposed to each other and you may only be able to optimize the outcome. You can’t maximize food intake and weight loss both at the same time.

  14. When was the last time any of our leaders were forward thinking did the hard work of formulating policy? When was the last time they really showed they cared about doing their jobs and putting the nation’s interests first?

Can anyone remember that time? I can’t. The only things they care about are fundraising and the next polling cycle.

  15. When you depend on someone, you are always at their mercy. It’s not just Biden’s fault, it’s all the presidents before him too. They were too relaxed when it comes to energy reliance. Didn’t really have a good plan or strategy 🙁
