@Buck Ó Donnghaile there are still over 600 available ICU beds available in Ontario for adults. Less than 20% of them are being used due to COVID related reasons, and the numbers have stayed plateaued at nearly the exact same level for the last month. Why should we have more than we need? Whos begging for ICU beds? Noone is. The government just wants to make sure we never need to. Im perfectly happy with the way things are run.

My wife is an RN in ICU. There was never a spike, she still gets her 1 hour nap during her 12 hr shift. Lots of easy overtime though.
